Shrimp my daughter has a varying degree of allergies including nut (fatal and epeipen carried on her person always) and mild everyday dust ect. For the latter we have always found Cetrizine can see her through the day ..she has 1mg /oral but is a child under 12. Also I have never had hayfever but last year started sneezing ect and tried piriton to no effect but the cetrizine stopped all symptoms!!

When I get really bad hayfever I use Cetrizine in combination with a light therapy machine. I thought the light thing was a load of nonsense before I got it but I was willing to try anything it really does work well for me.

I'm not sure which brand I have but this one looks similar:

Do you have a cat or a dog? I found out by getting allergy test that I am allergic scale 1 to cats and scale 5 to dogs. Ironic isn`t because we got the dogs to keep the cat`s away. However they are not allowed in the house or allowed to jump up at me.This seems to be working.

Try Beconase Nasal Spray, you should be able to get at chemist in TRNC, in the UK it is only available on prescription

Hi love are you alergic to any foods, with me when I was ill it was wheat yeast and dairy products. When I stopped them the sneezing stoped . Now I sneeze as soon as I have a glass of wine. Oh well no one here can tell the symptons. Seriously get a check on foods it can have an effect. I was told to drink pure aloe vera and I cant tell you the difference it made to me xxxxxxxxx

If you haven't tried Beconaise nasal spray, please do. In UK, I was a florist. I suffered from hay fever symptoms all year round. I was so bad that my eyes had water blisters over them at one point.

If I remember correctly, the doctor called it Rhinitous.

My doctor prescribed virtually every pill going, they worked for the first packet, but by the time I'd used that I was Immune to them.

He eventually prescribed beconaise, and hey presto........... I was cured.

I have had a mild attack since living here, bought beconaise, used it for a few days, and now am fine.

Whatever, I hope you find a cure for your's as I know it can make you feel very miserable.

Brumboy - you always wear a paper facemask when you use the buzz saw - et cetera? as that would help somewhat....

Weirdly, about two or so years ago, I started to get a runny nose, and ALWAYS am blowing my nose now - no idea why - can't go anywhere without tissues on me - not seasonal, all year round......

Beconase, some of you are recommending this nasal spray. When I was prescrided this drug, you could not buy it over the counter (approx 1996). I had an extreme allergic reaction to this on the first use, I ended up in hospital. My whole body shut down. Without going into the details, sometimes, even over the counter drugs, and lets face it, you can get a lot over the counter here!!, have an adverse affect and may be extremely dangerous. Dearie (msg 12) has given some god information on another post, maybe a visit to this Doctor that she recommends could really be of some help to you. Regards, Mrs Snakes.

I have to agree with MrsSnakes here. A friend of our's had the very same reaction and also ended up in the hospital.

msg 15 MsGarnet - that sounds like perennial allergic rhinitus. Dr. Finn can help you.
