My friend had spare ribs from there last week and a beef curry. When he opened the box it was 2 bones in sauce and the curry was all sauce and hardly any meat. It was well over 50ytl. Never again he said.

I'd heard it was dear, but, ouch!

Takeaways should be "cheaper" as they:

Are small = low rent

Have no waiters = low wage bill

Do little washing up (no crockery/cutlery) = low utilities

Well we must have been very lucky, Spring Rolls were large 2 of them as a starter, and so much Chicken Rice/Beef noodles with Veg/Sweet & sour Chicken and Beef Schezwan that we had meals last night and almost eat same again at lunch today so in a way we got enough for 3 to 4 meals for the 78tl.

Tried it, most of it tasted of the box it came in and thought it was very expensive at that as well - will give it another six months and try again. Singapore noodles are a favourite as well!!!!!!!!!!! An earlier post seemed to recomend the China House - anyone with anymore info on that?

There are 3 soldiers having to set-up camp in a remote woodland. An Englishman, Irishman and Chinese man! The English Sergeant proclaims they must prepare the camp before nightfall and says he will erect the tent then turning to the Irishman he says, “You cook the dinner” to which the Irishman replies “Oh for sure, I’m a good cook so I am” turning to the Chinese man he says you go into the town for our supplies. The Chinese soldier is eager to help out and says “Yes Sir” and runs off down the track towards the town.

The English soldier erected the tent and the Irish soldier had prepared the fire and heated a pot over it but can do nothing until the Chinaman returns with the supplies.

Hours pass. They wait. It starts to get dark and cold and they both wonder where the Chinaman’s gone.

Finally, pi**ed off, they both decide to head off down the track and into the town to try to find the Chinaman.

They get about half way down the track when suddenly the Chinaman .....(Continued)

...... jumps out in front of them waving his arms and shouts “Supplise!”

PS. I think the food at The Dragon and the take-away from Karakum are excellent. You get what you pay for, that's why it's not cheap.
