Hi

i'm am not scaring people off, I am just making sure that they take a look at what to beware of. I love Cyprus and especially the north. I have many really lovely TC family friends whose families have been here for dozens of generations.

I hope Mr Mehmet does well and I hope he will be one of the very few who provides impartial advice to all enquirers, and I'll give him my support ...

I was around when all the troubles started in 1974 and helped many TCs and I continue to enjoy their friendship, culture and the tranquility of the Northern part of the Island.

I also have a balanced view and know it is just as bad, if not worse, in the Republic of Cyprus and I have provided a page giving everyone a link to view similar stories ...

Havali , we are all adults , we make up our own minds at the end of the day . It doesn't hurt to be made aware of the other side of the coin . I don't think of it as putting people off your country , also the adopted country of many people by choice . You do have your success stories , there was a thread about it a couple of wks ago .

I can understand havali's point, i have spoken with a lot of turkish cypriots and they are hurt by what is said on this forum,most of the problems were imported to this country and they feel that they are getting the blame for it,everyone lost a love one between 1960-74, no one recognises them,apart from turkey, they are very touchy about what is said about their country, i know there are many people who are happy here and some that arnt,i sympathise with the ones who lost their homes and life savings but we have to understand too, the feelings of the locals

I am sorry the Turkish Cypriots feel hurt, and maybe most of the problems were imported, but they through their Government (who they vote for) must be prepared to rid their country of their imported rubbish, and learn to be honest and straight!!!! (they have a long way to go)
