BLOOD DONOR DAY

SATURDAY 11th OCTOBER 2008

10.00 am at GIRNE HOSPITAL



Please be generous – Give Blood and Save a Life



Blood Donations go to

THE CENTRAL BLOOD BANK IN LEFKOŞA to be available to everyone in the TRNC



(If you are not sure whether you are able to donate your blood, come anyway and find out!)

Hi

I donated last time and felt a little faint afterwards - I did warn them I might as the bloods flows out of me quite quickly and I past out in the UK just the once before.



Obviously I needed to stay laying down for a while - I was made to feel very uncomfortable - because I was holding up the beds - I am aware there are only a few and everyone has had a long, hot and tiring wait and the organisers were wanting to get everyone through quickly!



So what do I do this time? Come along and give but not say if i feel faint after or not give for fear of holding up a bed and receiving discomforting looks!!



Please help me with this dilemma.

Indeed. I started at 17 for the free bottle of Guinness and have given several hundred pints since then. Guiness tastes better to me now, but no longer a freebie. : (

A man and a woman were waiting at the hospital donation center.

Man: "What are you doing here today?"

Woman: "Oh, I'm here to donate some blood. They're going to give me £5 for it."

Man: "Hmm, that's interesting. I'm here to donate sperm, myself. But they pay me £25."



The woman looked thoughtful for a moment and they chatted some more before going their separate ways.

Several months later, the same man and woman meet again in the donation center.

Man: "Oh, hi there! Here to donate blood again?"

Woman: [shaking her head with mouth closed] "Unh unh."
