| The Minister of Tourism, Environment and Culture Kemal Dürüst has met with representatives of the tourism sector to evaluate work being carried out for the improvement of tourism in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Minister Dürüst came together with the Presidents of the Cyprus Turkish Travel Agencies Union, the Cyprus Turkish Guides Union, the Restaurant Owners Union and the Cyprus Turkish Hoteliers Union. |

| Speaking before the meeting, Minister Dürüst underlined the importance of cooperation pointing out that tourism could be moved further improved by raising awareness. Noting that the 2011 will be a milestone for TRNC tourism, Dürüst expressed the belief that an increased number of tourists will be visiting the country this year. |

| Reminding statements made by the Greek Cypriot Minister of Tourism who expressed concern over steps taken by the TRNC government for the tourism sector, Minister Dürüst said they were cautious of the Greek Cypriot Side’s lobbying activities. He also stressed that they will continue their joint efforts with tourism sector representatives in order to break the embargoes imposed on the TRNC. |
