Wonder how Nige will view this story A UK drug dealer was planning to sue police for "humiliating" him by telling his neighbours that he was sent to jail, The Sun reported. Police put a photograph of Luke Walsh-Pinnock, 22, on a "name and shame" leaflet sent to 1500 homes - but Walsh-Pinnock claims that the police force's actions breached his human rights and plans to seek damages. Police spread the news to Walsh-Pinnock's neighbours in Kilburn, north London, informing them that he was sentenced to four years in jail for dealing cocaine and heroin. The police leaflet added, "Individuals dealing drugs will be arrested and prosecuted. The above [Walsh-Pinnock] is a prime example of police intention." Walsh-Pinnock's parents also complained about his "degrading" treatment. "Luke's been humiliated in his local community, which is against his human rights. We'll take this to court. He's a good boy who is kind to his family," a friend of his mother said.

I think the bigger story should be Why only 4 years in jail for- Officers raided a flat in Kilburn last August and caught Walsh-Pinnock red-handed cutting up around half a kilo of heroin. They seized a safe which contained a large quantity of cocaine and some heroin. After time served and parole how long will he serve?

Bring back the stocks.. a bit of humiliation is cleansing for the soul. All too many such social pariahs strut around this world like cock-of-the-north felling proud of their achievements in avoiding justice and there are, were and will be again, plenty in our midst who have made their wedge by similar means. Their families should be ashamed of them.

Why oh why is it that people doing wrong have any rights what-so-ever. We all know right from wrong..Him and it seems his friends and family should talk with the families who have suffered because of drug pushers and even be sent to clinics where some people are going through treatment and see the hell they go through. Off with their hands............................. Spider,X

The laws need to be amended in UK re sentencing - thousands are spent catching these toe-rags who have so many deaths on their hands, then when they get to caught the judges hands are tied by the time factor of what they can give them. One thing about TRNC those caught with a couple of grams will get about 6 months to 1 year and the prisons here have no gyms different menus etc., etc.,

This knee-jerk reaction to drugs is quite amusing sometimes How many of your favourite bands took drugs? how many celebs from Frank Bough to Kerry Katona only this week Stephen Fry said he had used cocaine for 15 years I am not saying it is ok But it is wide-spread

Phil, msg 18 Whilst I take your point about those in privileged positions, I think we would all agree taking illegal drugs is a bad thing... Pushing drugs is quite another thing don't you think? I don't regard it as a knee-jerk reaction to want someone who has made a fortune out of the misery of others to be punished and humiliation seems almost too good for them if you ask me.

Plenty of substance abuse experts, academics and police chiefs out there who believe drugs should be legalised. And for very good reasons which sadly go over the heads of many.

In 2001, the UK department of health estimated that approximately 33,000 deaths per year in England were related to alcohol (illness caused by drinking, accidents caused by drinking and violent actions caused by drinking). Additionally, one person in every 13 in the UK is now believed to be alcohol dependant, which is around double the number who are believed to be dependant on either prescription or illegal drugs

Top cocaine users I know The father of psychoanalysis, Dr. Sigmund Freud, was an advocate of cocaine, citing its numbing effect suitable for use as an analgesic or as an anesthetic. Academy Award winner Robin Williams is not only one of Hollywood’s top actors but also a self-confessed former cocaine addict. Back in the late 70s, Williams got hooked to this illegal drug. He once said that “Cocaine is God’s way of telling you, you’re making too much money.” Prolific writer Stephen King made many readers feel the shivers with his countless horror novels but he himself faced his own demons during the time he was a cocaine user. A few additions to this list would be John Belushi, Marion Barry, Naomi Campbell, Kirstie Alley, John Entwistle, River Phoenix, Ike Turner, Bo Bice, Chuck Berry, Bobby Hatfield, Notorious B.I.G. and George Michael. Or in uk terms Phil Mitchell , D Westbrook ,Sid Owen,Rita Simons ,sean williamson , I could go on
