There has been a rumour circulating that the Shanghai Chinese at the top of the Jasmine Court Hotel road in Girne is closing. We checked yesterday, there is no truth in the rumour and they are open for restaurant and take-away business as usual. Good news!

The food there is great, they need more support, if you have not tried it, give it a go !!! Not many Chinese restaurants West side of Girne. Always thought a Chinese restaurant would do well on the Lapta strip.

Went to the Chinese House two weeks ago for a take-away and it was closed!! Gutted.

So decided to try the Shanghai.

Well lets just say... The Chinese House is not the best by far but in NC they, in my book deserve a 6/10 for taste & quality of food.

I judge taste & quality for Shanghai 2/10.

There is a lovely Chinese lady selling FABULOUS Chinese food at Lambrousa and Soyz on Sunday. Good portions and well priced.

It's a shame, Ballyboffin, that she and her husband didn't get the customer support when they ran the fabulous Chopsticks restaurant, in the old quarter of Girne, a couple of years back. It was our favourite Chinese restaurant.

glad she is doing well at Lambousa.

I don't think FABULOUS is the correct description of the Lambousa chinese food, it's OK and she's a very nice lady but FABULOUS is a touch of hyperbole I think.

Tango1. Compared to the other Chinese restaurants we have tried in Cyprus, hers IS FABULOUS by comparison. The quality, quantity and price are second to none we have had in Cyprus. All a matter of opinion of course, which we are all allowed.
