Neih hou, buddy. Have you tried contacting the English language Cyprus Today or Star newspapers? The alternative would be the Turkish language newspapers - Afrika would be a good bet. The trouble with this place is connections and corruption so it may be hard to get a news story out without upsetting the wrong people.

Jasmine Court used to be part of the Nadir empire (may still be) and there would I imagine be a lot of Turkish mafia money being laundered in the casino. Have word with a friendly "lawyer" if you can find one.

Zoots I think the hotel and casino are now seperate. The Casino is owned by Emperyal Casino a turkish organisation. Survivor good luck. Survivor did you work for the hotel or the casino.

Hi,

Yes, it would be better to have some kind of official line before you took it further. There is a London-trained barrister just across and up from the social security office called Elicos Liatsos (if he's still in business) who may be able to help.

Survivor did you know Peter Richardson, the general manager. They revoked his contract a couple of months ago. He is in dispute with them. If you would like to email me I can put you in touch with him.my email is guidoandliz@yahoo.co.uk

Sadly Jasmikne Court is not the only place that does nlot pay its employees. Certain universities are the same and you canb complain all you like but the people who own these places are bigger than you or anyone else. All you can do is to keep asking and waiting.

One of the problems is that if there is no money in the kitty, they can't pay you, but 'image is all' and no one is going to admit that they don't have it.

YOu could try the Star newspaper - far more likely to carry your story, or try YeniDuzen!

And why not take up Zoots idea - except of course you will have to pay the man out of money you haven't got. That is the problem here. Many lawyers will help and they are the ones who will gbet the money. No freebies here. But I DO feel sorry for you, really I do,

Zoots@would definitely ask for Elicos's contact info from u according to the response i get from the govt. offices..

Lilli @ will email u tonite and yes Peter was my loyal customer we do know each other

Marion @ certainly agree with u that they r bigger and stronger than me with all the connections in the right places..so as u suggested maybe have to play the waiting game a bit longer...

thank u all guys for ur suggestions and am quite confused as to which step to take next...if ull have any new info i would greatly appreciate it..thanx again

You have every right to complain Im not wrong because they are the ones who fired you and they must pay your salary along with compensation!!! if you have the contract proving this then you shouldn't have any problems to fight for your right. Im not sure about goverment office but you could take this to the court.

Also as foreigners we are all in the same boat for getting justice when something goes wrong. Let us know how things go.

Hi Survivor * just a thought - would you be able to approach the relevant union even though you are not a citizen or member - if you don't ask you don't get? good luck
