Full moon tonight, apparently the Moon will be 2% closer to Earth, which is a couple of thousand miles, pluse it falls on the day before the spring Equinox

It is also supposed to look 20-25% larger than normal so we guess in NC it will look fantastic, as when we are over there it always looks huge anyway!

It is the nearest it has been to earth for 19 years, so enjoy.

Lucky you Liz,

It's still daylight here so we are still waiting to see it, however it has been a lovely sunny day here today.

Hi Steve - it looked pretty big here last night, when it (obviously) wasn't quite a full moon, so it will look bigger still tonight, especially, as you say, after the lovely day we've had here in Suffolk.

I'm sure it will look more dramatic in NC - still the only place I've ever seen shooting stars.

We have just been looking on the 'current weather at Kayalar' webcam and we can see the moon shining!

Suffolk, Yes it is shinning but when you are looking at it through a high powered Telescope its alot different than a webcam.

There was a report today saying that the moon would be very bright today as it is closer to the Earth at this time

Just come into view here in BSE - it's actually worth going outside to have a look (even if it is cold). Quite an impressive sight, I must say.

Tootie,

It would be great if you can get them posted for everyone to see and enjoy.

We live at the most easterly point of the UK and the moon is east, shining across the North Sea towards the UK(we are about three quaters of a mile from the sea) and as Jeannie said it is really worth while taking a look outside.

Sure is Lilli, just a bit too chilly to sit outside though with my vodka and tonic, celebrating a win by our Rugby League team St Helens beating Leeds.
