Phone not working help please

My UK sim has stopped working when I cross the mountain into Kyrenia

It will work off a south side provider it will work in Turkey

Yesterday I went to Buffavento and got a signal come back to Girni and it stops as soon as i loose sight of the south

I'm on 3 network in the uk so is my wife's phone and that works ok when mine doesn't

I've tried swapping phones still "No network provider " comes up on the phone so its the sim & number

It worked no problem for 5 years then last October when I landed it stopped and again on this visit

any ideas why and what can I do so that it will work on this side of the mountain??

Sounds like 3 can't find a partner on the 'north' side to roam to..



Is your phone's network settings set to automatic ?

mmmmmm That would be logical but my wife's phone is 3 as well and its working in the north were mines not

They both worked for five years now only my wifes

network is set to automatic

Thats the same problem which I have encounted when I was in the North Cyprus. I'm with three and my phone does not work.

Thanks for the helpful input.. so how we know that 3UK network CAN work throughout Cyprus.. but some phones can't.. Let's try to find out more..



Being logical ....



What happens when you put *your* non-working 3 sim in your wife's phone and vice-versa - ?



This will help us get closer to solving the mystery.





We need to separate whether it's phone or sim related...

I have swapped sims between phones wife's continues to work mine didn't

but after look at network automatic I then looked at network mode I was on GSM there were tow other choices were WCDMA or GSM/WCDMA combined

I went for the GSM/WCDMA offer instead of GSM and it works

mmmmmm
