Riley the Greyhound and Lucie the greyhound

I was wondering how Riley the Greyhound who had been cruelly treated is doing in his new home and whatever happened to Lucie the Greyhound who Delikomsu was trying to rehome her as her elderly owners had to return to the UK for health reasons.

Hi,

Riley has settled well in his new home, we have had him for 6 weeks now and he has gone from a skeletal 21Kg (and he has a big frame) to 32 KG, another 3 to go before he reaches his optimum weight.

His dreadful wounds have virtually healed but it has been a long haul and he had to have the tip of his tail amputated as it was gangrenous.

He is coping with our other 2 sighthounds and has learned that he is fed last, to learn his place in the "pack"

He has learned "wait","Stay" and"NO" but not "sit" as the wounds on his haunches were to bad for him to sit down, he could only stand or lie down.

His eyes were dead when we met him now they are bright and full of life.

He ran round the garden today at full speed for the first time, a joy to behold and he has met Barney (undoubtedly his sibling as so alike) who was also found in a pitiful state.

Riley will make his debut at the Dog Show in April and thanks to Bill and Jan Reeves for finding him in the first place !

swyflot. What a lovely post to read for a change, he sounds great now. I will leave a donation at the KAR shop in December.

we are so glad that he is doing well he couldnt have gone to a better home ...well done Nikki and Stuart you are doing a wonderful job with Riley ...we look forward to seeing him soon !

Riley will make his debut at the Kar dog show,so plenty of partisan support when he is in the ring.

Anyone wondering why we chose the name Riley,then just think of the expression, The life of ------

Plenty of interest by the press on doing a story,but seem to back off when i insist on early pictures being used

So glad to read the good news. Having been involved with Greyhound Rescue in the UK and had 4 of these wonderful dogs over the years this is heartening news. Hope to see them at the Dog Show.
