The statement also said that efforts were underway to re-locate two speed cameras stationed on the Girne coastal road near Deniz Kızı Hotel and the Green Petrol station as a result of ongoing work to expand the road.

It also said that three other speed cameras in Zümrütköy, Akdeniz and Çamlıbel would become operational soon following the completion of infrastructural work.

With all those cameras about it makes you wonder how there are still people still manage to speed around.

My personal bugbear though is seeing so many people on their mobile phone while driving, don't people realise how dangerous it is, almose as bad as having been drinking alcohol - your awareness is reduced and reactions are slower.

Ha ha, I am as careful as anyone else. If this was not the case, I would collect hundreds of tickets per year. Actually I would like to have these instantenious cameras replaced by average speed cameras over a stretch. This will stop people speeding except at camera spots. That will help road safety.
