Several Cyprus Turkish and Greek Cypriot political parties resumed with their routine round-table meetings in the UN Buffer Zone today under the auspices of the Slovakian Embassy in South Lefkosa. Today’s meeting which was hosted by the Greek Cypriot Democratic Party-DIKO was held at the usual venue-the Ledra Palace Hotel.

Making a statement before the meeting, the Slovakian Ambassador to South Cyprus Anna Turenicova announced that the

During that meeting, party representatives had taken up the issue of cultural heritage of the Maronites, the Armenians and the

Latins in Cyprus as well as the future of minority rights in case of a solution to the Cyprus problem.

Turenicova said that party leaders and representatives will be visiting the sites of the Sourp Magar Armenian Monastery and the Maronite St. Elias Monastery located in the TRNC during the first half of April.

The meeting, for the exception of the Slovakian Ambassador’s opening speech, was held behind closed doors.
