Get a few mug fulls of floc and dilute in half a bucket of water. Walk around the pool broadcasting the diluted floc by flicking mugfulls across the surface of the water.

This must be done with the pump OFF. Leave the pump off for 12-24 hours and then vacuum to WASTE.

Why would you floc the pool BEFORE treating it with the algaecide?

Also, I would do this once the sun has gone down as pool chemicals last longer without the effects of direct sunlight.

Well, chlorine lasts longer, but the other chemicals we are talking about here are not effected.

It's done overnight because no one is using the pool then.

Really should not be a problem,if you have been cleaning the pool once a week in winter, this of course includes chemicals
