Hi, we are coming over in the next couple of weeks to the villa and will be applying for a work permit, I will be singing around the island, we are opening a Rat Pack, Jazz style Cabaret bar & Restaurant, that is as long as we are given the permissions, we have found the venue that is perfect and are finalizing the documentation, As it will take 8 to 12 months to build and fit out due to bringing things from New York, London and Vegas, I will be doing a full Sinatra, Rat pack style show, if there is anyone who would like to hold this type of show at their Restaurants , Bar or Hotel, get in touch and we can have a chat. We have all the Stage equipment, Sound rigs, Lighting rigs ect, the show is about 1.5 hours long, Sammy Davis Jnr, Big Frank, a little Dean Martin, Michael Buble, Jamie Cullum, Bobby Darin Maybe a little Tom Jones "but that's not unusual". Songs like "Mr. Bojangles" "Fly me to the moon" "got you Under my skin" "me and Mrs. Jones" "Lady is a tramp" "Cry me a river"

Hi Al, You say you are opening a Cabaret / Jaz bar and resturant on the island , but where about is it ? . North or south of the border. If people know where you are staying then they can give you ideas.

You can't get a work permit to entertain at different bars / restaurants. It's fine if you have your own restaurant and perform at that only but to get a business here including work permits is extremely expensive

mickyron: I will be singing in North Cyprus only as I was very poorly treated by the customs officers going to the south to catch a flight, and I vowed never to go back. happyhere: In relation to work permits we have opened a local company already and when we come over next week we will be taking advice in regards what we have to do if I'm to entertain around North Cyprus before we start trading at the cabaret bar, however thanks for the advice.

As Happyhere stated, you are not allowed to sing at different venues on a workpermit. Only one venue. Even if you have a ltd company the amount in taxes etc you have to pay, doesn't even cover the amount you would earn in various bars etc. Not being negative for you, just speaking from 6yrs of Trnc experience, like bashing your head against a brick wall! Hence why I moved!

We know this, we are not thinking of me singing for a living anymore, i just want to keep rehearsed while building the Cabaret Bar, I do however have the opportunity to work at a few 5 star hotels under contract for ok money until such times as we are open, i will do this through the local company under contract, I might actually do some singing at Bars free just to keep busy and raise money for local charities , cancer research etc, I could then apply for an exemption from the local authorities to perform. the location of our Cabaret Bar is right on a beach so it will be open all day from breakfast serving food, Coffees, teas, drink, , crazy Golf and other things for for Kids, also we are building a Bar above that will be open serving a set menu three course meal and full cabaret for the evening, also people can just come in for a drink if they like in the Bar area. Thanks for the advice though. we will need all the help and encouragement we can get. Al.
