Have to go back to UK permanently due to health reasons. We desperately need new home or homes for our 2 lovely dogs. They are very well behaved and have lovely natures. Fully inoculated and registered. So Please Please will somebody take one or both, we will be forever grateful. We need to be out of our home in 10 days, so we are very very desperate.

I think it would help if you gave more details of the dogs such as their sex, breed, age, colour age etc and a photo on herewould really help but would it be possible to take them with you back to the UK.

Breed, as above One is about 6 yrs, the other is almost 7 yrs. We had one from 9 weeks old and the from about 5 yrs old. One is sandy colour and the other is brown and white. Both very pretty and intelligent. I am not very good with computers, so am afraid I can't do a photo, but if you give me your email, I can send you photos.

Why give them homes in the first place if you are not prepared to take them with you where ever you go? Typical Brits who expect others to take responsability for their mistakes!!"!

Absolutely! Why take on these animals at that age?? I feel sorry for the dogs. Too many people give dogs and cats homes without thinking about the possibility of leaving Cyprus and then expecting everybody else to give them homes when they leave.

Better to leave them alone in the first place!!??

If you were to read Post No.1 properly, you will see that this lady has had at least one of the dogs for several years. Of course, if we knew if/when we may suffer ill-health, we'd all be able to plan our lives years in advance.

She's trying to find homes for the two dogs under what may be very stressful circumstances.

I assume message 1 cannot afford to ttake the animals back to U.K I would be completely gutted if i had to leave my 'babies' behind, but it is not possible to always do what one would like to do. and I am sorry that I cannot help out.

But pelase don't be unkind. What would you say to someone who dropped dead unexpectedly leavng their pets. Tell them they should never have taken them on? None of us know how much time we have on this planet, and we normally plan as if we have a full share of days head. I hope I have, but as |I used to pray when a kid ' If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take' - I just hope it is not today.

i feel so sorry for the dilemna of message 1 and I hope you manage to solve it. \But i BEG ALL THOSE WHOO READ AND CONTRIBUTE TO THIS FORUM 'Judge not your brother until you have walked a mile in their moccasins'. remember tomorrow it could be you. (Sorry for mistakes. new keyboard mucking me about.

I have to agree with Ralph on this one!!!

I feel sorry for mess 1 but there are plenty similar sad stories of people having to give up there pets due to whatever reason

If the owner cannot look after it and cannot find a home for it then it should be put down as there is far too many stray dogs roaming around which can be dangerous especially to children and can spread diseace

I do believe from henceforth, anyone who has to leave TRNC suddenly (only ten days notice to rehome TWO dogs)? should always have their animals put down. They may say it is heartless, but more heartless to leave animals who have such a deep emotional connection with their owners, pining for them; they have no idea if they will settle with new owners - but more than that - TRNC is sinking under the weight of feral, diseased, abandoned, starving animals. It would be the best option.

MsGarnet - we do not agree on very much, but I find myself in complete agreement with your message No.14; in fact, I have said this before, more than once. As you rightly say, the TRNC is sinking under the weight of unwanted animals and this situation can only get worse, unfortunately. I have advocated a cull of animals, especially old, unwanted ones. To me, quality of life is far more important than quantity.

Yes, it will seem heartless to many, but far better to put these poor creatures out of their misery than to have then wandering the streets, starving, diseased, unloved, etc.

I think message 12 says it all. It sounds as though Halloitsme is having a tough enough time as it is. Well done Marion.

What can I say other than 10 days is such a short time to try and find a home for two dogs that have obviously been much loved. Msg 14 is correct IMO, there are so many pitiful sights wandering the back roads towards the mountains where they have been dumped and nothing anyone can do for them. This is the time of year when pups are being borne under hedges etc (I friend of mine in Lapta has had a bitch nearby give birth to 9 of them 2/3 days ago). With all this misery in the streets and mountain lanes to try and find a home for another 2 in 10 days is so very difficult. However, I wish the lady the very best of luck.

AsI said i wish I c ould. But all the posters about the overload here are correct. Yesterday a Cypriot asked me for KAR's number as a friend has a dog that needs a home. I tried to explain that they are on a loser and how KAR is on overloads (as are the streets).

I am so sorry that I cannot help with the dogs, but is there anything else any of us can help with. the plight sounds desperate. Are you O.K. for packing and all the final logistics. If not, I am sure some of us would help.
