Hi

I am trying to find the best way to take my beloved cat back to the UK with me but having trouble finding a carrier from Ercan. Has anyone done it recently? I would really appreciate any advice or information. Don't want to risk going over the border and taking her to Larnaca so Ercan is the only option I can take, but not sure if it's best to fly her to Turkey then take a BA flight or what - it's all so confusing!!!

Speak with your Vet to get the best advice. The cat will need to have rabies injections & bloods taken it takes up to 9 months to do this. Otherwise your cat will have to go into quarantine for 6 months in the UK. My own dog is having the injections now to come back to UK in October I thought this the better option as she is being cared for in the family home in N.Cyprus enjoying herself in the garden. The thought of her being in a cage & away from us for that long is just not an option for us she would not cope well with it. At least she is being cared for by my husband & we get to be with her at the school holidays. I would also recommend you call KAR & speak with Margaret Ray the telephone number is 05338694098 they will also advise you as they want to help people take there pets back with them as there are so many unwanted animals in N. Cyprus as you know. My Cyprus poodle was a rescue dog & part of our family I am so glad we have her. Anyway hope this advice helps you. Good luck

Thankyou for the replies you have given me, very useful and I'll be in touch with Kar and my vet for further info on the injections etc.

Puss cat was a rescue from here so no UK pet passport, even if she needs quarantine I won't be leaving her, she's part of the family and will definately be coming to her new home - hope she copes with the cold!

Thanks again everyone
