Why not make inquiries as to which companies carry out these works, and get them down to give you a quote.

Hello Looseboots - just had mine done, I did not have to pay for it as it was on my contract of sale and the seller had to pay for this. My solicitor held 3K back from final payment, that was 14 months ago and it has just been completed. Got to pay up front to get some guys from Lefcosta here, they turned up unannounced crawled all over the place, measured everything, showed me the Kocan for the place (good news as there was already one). Left saying everything was OK. Seems it goes now to local planning office and they took another 10/11 months to sort partialisation out. My sellers estate agent was Ian Smith, who were very good. Perhaps a phone call to them and they may be able to help in costs as they did it for the seller of my place. Mike

I wish I knew. We have our Land Kocan but can't get house Kocan until parcelisation is done. Like Msg 7 we are just two properties on one plot i.e. 1 donum each. Our Solicitor said it would cost us about £700 if we wanted to use their agent (our architect said he could charge the same) or we could try and do all the running around ourselves. However the relevant Government Departments are behind by a factor of 1,000's so we haven't pushed it at all.

It will depend on how much progress has been made. You should obtain the GREEN building file from the developer (assuming he isn't going to help) and go to the District Office next to the hospital.

First step is to get Final Approval (Tasvip Şehadetnamesi). See Gürkan Kara who is in charge at the District Office.

Both plot holders must sign relevant documents unless Power of Attorney can be obtained.

I agree about the GREEN file, our number has moved up to a D number which means (or so I understand from the Kaymakan office) that we are about 3/4 of the way there. Apparently all these files are coloured Green and when you reach a certain point the prefix on the original Green file, held by the builder and handed to the Government office, the Prefix changes. No mention of costs in the £000's has been mentioned by anyone though.
