Would anyone be able to strongly recommend a company who can provide all the basic property management services for my property in the Esentepe area. I would preferably like to use a reputable local firm but not essential. Services to include Garden, Pool and utility Bill payment etc etc

Previous company used no longer carries this out (Lynxe) after October

I will look into Glencoe and thanks for the advice most grateful.

kassybe,

I have worked closely with GPC on several factors. I have also known Greg Keenan for over a year. I know a number of his clients who are well satisfied. I have hired cars through his company.

I had no hesitation whatsoever in agreeing a 12 month property maintainance agreement last week, in addition to some further £7000 worth his Company is providing for us.

I hope that reassures anyone who has any doubts.

Lynx stopped our contract at end of October. I believe they are now only interested in complete site management not individual properties, which ours was. We found them OK over the past 3 years, but they were only holding keys and checking apartment every fortnight, no bill payment etc.

I have used Glencoe Property Services since March this year and have found them very helpful, friendly and they offer an excellent package of services.

Hi Berty,

I would agree with wyn very strongly, Glenco are the people to use and are very good at what they do offering so many services, not just pool maintance like alot of them, I am sure there is plenty of people on here to ask how good they are, and what a nice man Greg is.

hi no1doyen

Lynx were very good and Jackie was or is most helpful . we used them for quite a lot of things and even today she has been very proactive in resolving a small issue we have been having. I can confirm that us mere individual property owners have been let go to enable them to concentrate on their core business,

Thanks to all the recommendations and a good point raised by Kazzebe

thanks

Hi Bertie,

I responded to your enquiry in good faith! I won't bother again. You seem to take note of Kazzabie comments. Perhaps if you looked at her previous postings, you would be more inclined to her opinions. Oh she doesn't reccommend anyone!!

Now that is what I call respondsive posting!

Berty why pay vast amounts of cash to these alledged property maintenance companies? Most of them only check your property the week you come out anyway. You can pay your utilities over the internet or in advance when youre here. If youre worried about limescale building up in your taps you can get a water softener fitted for about £200. Theres virtually no crime in your area. You've got to have your pool maintained anyway, why not just offer them an extra £10 a month to email you if they find your water tanks blown off the roof etc.

Be careful who you get recommendations from. Don't listen to people who say that they've known someone over a year and yet they've only met him for a drink now and again when theyre on holiday. It takes years to get to know someone and trust them. Listen to people who've lived here for years. They'll soon tell you what's going on. Wyn you also recommended a pool co last month and yet your pool isnt built yet.

Hi Billyb,

see your acting your age again, if everyone had your attitude there would be a lot of flooded/dirty villas about, also why have those pr people when you can do it yourself, maybe we should stop all the trades and diy.

Wyn I am helping I seriously do not know why people pay for property maintenance when there is simply no need for it. When I first came to this Island I was inexperienced like yourself and thought that property maintenance was a ncesessity. But after living here I realise its unnecessary.

David 123 why would the house get flooded? Do they only start flooding when the property maintenance people are on site? Make sure you have an overflow fitted to your roof tank or turn the stop cock off when you leave. You can buy locked taps and leave a key with one of your neighbours just in case.

You can buy plants for your garden that dont need much watering.

I apologize for not making any comments on your members information, I simply cant be bothered to look at it. I come on here for justice and a little light heart humour. I suggest you do the same.

Billyb,

Are you the same poster as Billybob? If so I found your posting Msg 4 "update for Turtle Bay Village/ management companies.".......illuminating. As did your posting Kassybe.

It seems you both have a second agenda, in respect of Glencoe Property Management.

kazzybe,

With respect , I know a number of Glencoes customers, from whom I took references.

I have entered a 12 months maintainance agreement.

I have committed to a further £7000 worth of work with the Company.

I spoke well of this Company as have many other posters on this thread.

I think that I am eminantly well placed to comment. I have put my money where my mouth

is. I found your and Billybobs postings on the "update for Turtle Bay Village/management

companies", quite disturbing.

I do know the owner and his wife and I have done so for over a year. I spent some

considerable time in their offices last week, and I heard nothing from a number of clients

that called in, to cause me any concerns.

I have no wish to argue with you, but I would appreciate it if you refrain from personal

remarks.

Perhaps lets just say that it wouldn't take a supersleuth to discover that Kazzybe is using an internet cafe to make these comments and she/he will disappear like dazza after a few of posts

firstly, never seen any dubious posts about glencoe - seem to be a well established/respected set up in the esentepe area

secondly, kazzybe - wynyardman is also a well-respected, sensible and humorous stalwart of this board

thirdly - I think you mean slanderous not saldernous!

Have a nice day folks!

Absolutely superb, just what I like to see. Expats knocking the s**t out of each other. Why do you all make life so complicated for yourselves? I am glad I have more TC friends than Expats.

OK I dont know Wyn but he seems the sort of bloke I really would like to have a beer with and has never to my knowledge been anything but a gent and tried to help when someone has asked a question.

I do know Greg at Glencoe and Baris the pool expert. I would seriously find it difficult to find anyone, anywhere who is more helpful in every circumstance.

If someone chooses not to beleive this then it is their loss. I have no connection other than the satisfaction of having become involved with a company I not only trust but have pleasure in dealing with .

Nunu please send me an e-mail as our house in Bahceli will require some electrical and plumbing work. We took over in July and are now over again noting things we want doing/checking/ and putting right to UK standards not Turkish / Israeli "the cheapest will do if it works" standard.

Know what you mean about usual claptrap!

Why not try "First Consult Cyprus" for Property and Site Mangement. They manage the "Bufavento Village Phase 1 Site" where we purchased in Catalkoy. They have been brilliant and are fluent in both Turkish & English.
