Used to get this in the UK but for the life of me cant get it here, it would get rid of Limescale in minutes, you could use this and not go into the little room for about 2 hours, its costing me a fortune for other products, you could get it from Pharmacies but here they think you want it for cooking. Any help ?

I will try Paul, you sure I will not get a punch on the nose, written it down and I will take it with me to the Shops, being a Dispensing Chemist I should know but never dreamt that I would be living in the TRNC and having need for this, thanks again,

I use a product called Tuz Ruhu. It's in a blue bottle and gets rid of limescale in seconds. Make sure you DO NOT get it anywhere near any taps or anything metal/chrome. You can buy it most of the supermarkets. I decant it into an empty spray bottle so I can spray underneath the toilet rim but make sure you wear gloves in case it drips.

I think the small boxs/ packets of drain cleaner they sell in most supermarkets are either caustic soda or very similar product cost about 1-2 YTL. I find they work well and react the same when you poor in water on top.

The product you want is indeed Tuz Ruhu and I think it is hydrochloric Acid and it is very good for limescale

Thanks Ataturk, tried Astro today, with no luck will try in Lamar tomorrow, thanks again, I thought I would have to get someone to bring some over from the UK, that would have looked good in their luggage if they were searched.

Many thanks

Musin I was joking about asking someone to bring it over, I was a Dispensing Chemist so I know about it, but I was getting drastic, but thanks for the info, every little bit of info helps.

We use a product called Por Coz. Available in most supermarkets in 500ml.

Was originally recommended by a proffesional cleaning company here.

Not as vicious as CS but very effective.

I have also tried Por Coz with success on limescale.

It is in a Blue spraybottle and on the back it also says scale and rust remover in English but most of the label is Turkish. I bought it as part of a twin pack with a kitchen type spray and wipe as well.

Thanks Aussie

With all the products I have written down, I feel sure I will get the right one to solve my problem, I was told Por Coz by some one the other day, so will get a bottle of that first to try it, by the time I get rid of this limescale I will need a new loo bowl as things only last over here around 2 years.

thanks again

Jeez!!

With some of the advice on here I can see you all ending up in the hospital burns unit as well as having corroded chromework!

Limescale is really bad here in W London, kettles have a life expectancy of 2 years.

I've tried all the 'off the shelf' products,.. mostly rubbish!

What does work, and is safe to use, is a home made thickish paste of Bicarbonate of Soda with White Vinegar. Use with cloths, scrubbing brushes or old toothbrushes. It won't damage Chrome or Plastic, it won't burn you, but it will get rid of limescale and leave no poisonous residues.

It's so safe it might even be an excellent tooth whitener! ;-)

If it doesn't work for you, at least you can use the leftover Bicarb and vinegar for cooking!

Hi Rob

Tried the old Bicarb and white vinegar, I use white vinegar on chrome great, but it will not remove this limescale, don't worry shan't burn anything cant afford to over here with no health care.

Thanks for the tip though
