copy of old residence stamp

copy of 'stamped' house contract, or rental agreement, or Kocan

Copy of passport photo page

Muhktar letter

copy of bank statement to show funds

Your old pink book (they will re-use picture from this)

Plus anything else that has changed recently (last 6 weeks)

Take to the Police station and hand in, they will fill in the form for you

Collect visa about 3-4 weeks later in Nicosia, where you have to pay for the stamp 146ytl, also I believe you need to take 5 x 6ytl stamps.

To colloect visa, go here, courtesy of 'come-on-Aylin' http://trncvillaowners.phpbb3now.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=482

For the children, under 18, nothing needed, they can just stay indefinitely with a parent.

There is also info on the 'residency' tag at the bottom of the homepage.

Make sure the Muhtar's letter has 3 signatures. The Muhtar needs to sign it plus he should direct you to the other 2 signatories, if he doesn't ask him. You will get sent away from the Police Station if the letter does not have 3 signatures.

Also take the original passports and contract/rental agreement/kocan.

You were lucky. The new rules came in on 1st November 2007 so we didn't need 3 signatures this time last year either. When we did our renewal a few weeks ago, one lady was sent away twice. First time, she only had 1 signature; second time she only had 2. On the form there is room for 2 additional signatures once the muhtar has signed it. Same as everything here, nothing is the same twice - I would still recommend getting 3 signatures if only to ensure a single trip to the police station.

We only had two signatures and there was only room for two on the form.

Muhkta and second Muuhta signatures sufficed in August 08. Still the rules could well have changed. fast becoming disollusioned with this quaint little island where we all thought we could live peacably. It has become a police state and they make it increasingly hard to live.
