Hi debdebs - I see that you are located in the TRNC whereas I am located in the UK - I need to get some UGGs - I will try e-Bay - and I think you can check about fakes on YouTube - Good luck!!!

Try FoxyLady in Girne, they won't be the real thing but they might have some good copies! Failing that try the 'dark side'.

Given that 'UGG' boots are made of sheepskin, are they not meant for wear in severe weather conditions that are not typical in the TRNC?

No1Doyen- The UGG boot is a national icon in Australia. Although they started life in the 1800's worn by the sheep farmers who used every bit of the animal, they came in to prominence in the late 70's as a fashion accessory and have since been exported all over the world. Enough waffle, my point is that Australia has the same amount of extreme weather as the TRNC!

Theymay have been invented in Aussie but it took busty Pam Anderson to bring them to the fashion scene, its definitely a cosmetic thing (Cold weather has nout to do with it.), best worn with mini skirts and tight short T shirts, look at Pam Anderson , she wears them very well. I think they look weird . The top part is great. http://www.igotuggs.com/2008/07/pamela-anderson-in-uggs-on-beach.html

There is a shop in Girne that do ugg boots they pro are fake but they also do the ugg bags to match, think they are about 150tl but not 100% sure. If you start from barcino and walk down the high street, half way down on the left hand side there is a shop with a BIG step u(not sure of the name of the shop) but as you walk in they are right in front of you they have mens prada shoes also. If you get to the exchange place on the LHS you have gone to far The boys in there are really friendly.

Ugg boots were originally nade for surfers in Australia & you are supposed to wear them without socks. They keep your feet warm in winter & cool in summer, which is why they are worn all year long. The sheepskin is supposed to absorb sweat & keep your feet smelling sweet!
