The KAR annual Dog Show and Spring Fayre is on Sunday April 24th. Judging begins at 10.30 but registration is open on the day from 9.00am. It will be at the Wednesday market site in Kyrenia.

But you can save your selves time by pre booking your entries. All you need to do is pop into the KAR office and pay your 5TL per dog per class entry fee. You will then be registered and will be given your show entry number and so will not need to queue up to enter on Show day.

There are many classes for you to choose from ( best pure breeds/best puppy/dog with the waggiest tail etc) so there should be something for everyone and every dog.

Even if you haven't a dog to enter please still come along and enjoy the fun - there will be stalls/tombola/beverages/raffles etc.

If you would like to donate items for the Tombola (tins/jars/bottles - full ones only !!!) or could donate a cake then please contact the office. Tel 0533 8694098 (office hours) for any further info.

Definately interested in donating some cakes

Would you like us to deliver the cakes on the Saturday or bring them with us that morning?

Oh no Lilli not Bones, I have an Akbash puppy that I would like to show. Bones is still recovering from a bad ear, and where his haunches were bare he has started to grow hair back. I am sure that he will be gorgeous again soon, but still a bit too poorly for a dog show - thank you for asking though!

message 6 - no the only place that you can pre register is the KAR office.

message 9 - the KAR office is not just around the corner from Passport Restaurant and/or The Watermill Hotel. If you come off the main Girne road at the original Ezic restaurant and drive 50yds down to Passport - then turn right directly in front of Passport - keep following the road for approx 500yds and it bends to the left - keep following it and the KAR office is approx 200 yds down on the right hand sign. It is an appt block and they are on 1st floor (you will seee a red/white Clinic sign for the childrens doctor also in same appt block).

Good luck - in the show and with my directions !!!

Don't forget tomorrow is the last day for you to pre register (in the KAR Office) your dogs for the show. Otherwise registration opens at 9.00am on Sunday morning at the show.

Agree on the Berilela!! My Cross Pointer had a few moments too, but it was her first time with so many dogs around and also being without her Mum & Sister! but there were so many as you say!!

I think its fair to say, those who found it FUNNY!! to watch there Dog fight and attack every dog in sight should have been told if they can not control there Dog please leave.....Maybe next year we need a group of volunteers for Security!!

Lovely Day out though, wish it was done more often

I do not even have a dog and i had a great time - although i was k*******d after being there from 8am ! it was lovely to see so many beautiful. well cared for and loved dogbeing proudly shown by their owners. well done you owners.

There was only 2 people who attended the "Can you help at the Dog Show " meeting which meant that yet again the same few people had to work damn hard for many weeks to get the Show on. If only more people would help then improvmentts could be made.

There were people who were "security" volunteers but they were caught up with getting dogs onto leads/trying to catch people selling puppies/checking for illegal collars etc.

Yes there were "statement" dogs with their (generally ) young male owners strutting their stuff. I spoke to one of them about his rotty's behaviour - as usual here it was about education. He didn't understand his dogs behaviour nor the trigger factors nor how to deal with it.

All in all - KAR deserve a big Thanks for a great event.

Yes they do seserve a big pat on the back, These things take some organising, at the end of the day, its to give owners, dogs a wonderful day out with a bit of competion. More importantly to draw attention to the cause in the hope more can be homed.I hope that happened. Well done all concerned.
