Pauline will write about the incident later on NCFP but it is totally true that there was an incident that necessitated the son one of the owners who is house sitting his mother's house (mother has multiple sclerosis and to ill to be here) bit ccomplicated. This is totally kosher AJ so dont go closing the thread just yet. One f our legal team also attended the Police Station. K5 are in the High Court again tomorrow. Pauline will be there as one of the Petitioners. Makes a chnage for the Bank not to act in darkness.

gwhiz First of all if you make a posting which appears to be nothing more than rumor then at least substantiate it in the same posting. There are far too many 'first time' posters that 'post and run'. Secondly It would have been more sensible to post on the existing thread. Having multiple threads on the Kulaksiz 5 will result in some of them being deleted. Pauline, it is your call. Which thread do you want left intact.

Sorry Marion, no I do not think HBPG meeting had anything to do with it. It is just ongoing and continuous intimidation. I have sent my blog in to NCFP now. Could have been baba Kader himself the owner of Akfinans Bank this time, but cannot be sure, read the blog and you will understand. CORCHIDACTUS watch is on again. There is a definite sign of swelling in the bud. AJ leave this thread on please. If anyone wants to support us tomorrow at Lefkosa High Court, come along about 10.45 a.m.

I'm afraid I'm with AJ here, although in hindsight he made a mistake in closing the thread before gwhiz had a chance to say who had given them the information, as he said, too many rumours have been started by newcomers and he couldn't be sure if this was one.

gwhiz, not your fault, but you merely said "one of the Kulaksiz residents" and that's a bit difficult to check unless you know which one.

How can this bank "AKFINANS" be allowed to continue harassing decent elderly people? Why has our House of Lords complied with Lord Maginnis and not allowed the TRNC Foreign Minister to be questioned about property issues? Yes Pauline it is a crock, and for what? The TRNC Government must answer the victims of their injustice! because we won't go away! Upsetting spider, that is an understatement! thousands of victims! and believe me I'm not exaggerating, as some would have you believe! How much longer can this corruption go on?

Apologies for not fully understanding the 'legalities' (for want of a polite word) of this horrendous situation. For whatever reason it would appear to those affected and those who could possibly be affected in a similiar way in the future that the Bank(s) are corrupt / non transparent. However, I think we can all agrees that big businesses in any country employ 'clever' people to find tax loops / ways of manipulating contracts etc to best suit their purpose. What I would like to know / understand a little better, is what do Mr and Mrs 'TC' Average think about the situation? Does the average TC feel that 'outsiders' / foreigners' are being badly treated? Are they protesting on the behalf of people who have brought money into their country? I just don't understand how this can appear to be 'accepted' by those not immediately affected. Kulaksiz 5 ...may justice come soon.

only rarely does the story of these property scams reach Turkish-language newspapers. For organisations like Akfinans Bank, when these stories do appear they are more worried than when they appear in English. That is why the bank attempted to impose a Kulaksiz 5 news blackout recently. This is also why polymarples' current Cyprus 44 ban is so worrying and, in her mind, suspicious

But when the news is available in either English or Turkish how do TC react? Are they supportive? Would it carry more 'weight' if they too were asking pertinent questions of the banks?

since pollymarple is now banned somewhat bizarrely. I am the new version. Don't worry AJ. Ismet recommended I take a new membership, so here it is, the new streamline version. No attempt to mislead or be a multiple member - pollymarples will not be returning, she knows when she isn't wanted No, I do not belive I put the 't' in tyahoo because if I had the verification process would not have let me in. Court was ordeal enough and I really could have done without this. he removing of the padlock on the absentee owner's villa was also very positive. Will keep you all posted, unless of course anothere reason arises to ban me.

Whenever I have mentioned ANY problem that we have had (notwithstanding this particular case) the average Mr & Mrs TC go absolutely blank. They know virtually nothing of what happens to ex-pats/foreigners whether it be legal, Governmental or planning. When I have talked about Permission to Purchase, they don't understand it, inability to obtain Kocan they don't realise, and when you discuss obtaining a Kocan of property on to our land, they are completely baffled. Virtually nothing is published in their papers and if it was, frankly I don't believe they would particularly care. Tango1

For whatever reason it is becoming increasingly difficult to engage the Turkish speaking press in any property related problem although the economic knock on effect of the loss of the building industry and tourism will impact enormously on all TC people hitting their income and their lifestyle. Maybe when it starts hitting them where it hurts most/ in their pockets/ they will sit up and take notice/

TRNCvictim I was just making a comment as people on this thread were saying the Turkish papers don' t print anything and that the average TC don' t know about the problems going on with the Brits I took that as meaning they think they don't speak English.

YENI dUZEN often carries property news (if informed), but just as a comment, I don't think many residents of U.K realise the problems for foreigners owning property. years ago some 'foreigners' wanted to buy our house but ultimately discovered that they were not allowed to. That was an eye opener for me, because being British I had no idea of restrictions imposed on immigrants, and of course I learned even more when I was interested in purchasing elsewhere in the world. the locals would not know because it does not impact on their lives. Maybe we are all the same in that respect.

Those that do know are very supportive, only rarely have I had a 'serves you righ' from a Turkish Cypriot. There are many Turkish Cyps in the U.K. and we really do have their support big time. However, as I understand it, they do not get to vote, now that would really help us. I still exercise my right to a postal vote in the U.K. and my M.P has taken up the matter with the Foreign office, not the buying here, they have no sympathy, but pushing around and intimidation of British pensioners, they are concerned about that.

I have to say that KIBRIS Gazetti were very helpful and published the story of Alpan Uz failing to deliver houses on 5 sites and yet collecting £3 million towards his 'new airline. Kibris published the story and the fact that Alpan Uz went to court on several occasions to get an injunction to stop them publishing. Alpan Uz obviously thought that it would have some impact on his friends and relatives otherwise he would not have bothered trying to silence Kibris with an injunction.

One week today Kulakszi 5 wil have yet another day in Court. I wonder if there will be any more incidents between then and now. For the sanity of the residents of Kulaksiz 5, I sincerely hope not. How much more can these people endure? Lets hope the CORCHIDACTUS never blooms.
