Taking advice from this forum I am about to order some Avon skin so soft to repel sand flies. The one that I have found to buy is called dry spray insect repellant and comes iin a white bottle with a blue label. Is this the right one that forum members are always recommending?

Many thanks

I have just looked on Avon's website and can't find it. In fact I also entered insect repellant and it returned no products. Please can you post a link to the product because i too want to order some. Thanks

I don't think it is called bug guard but maybe it is, it is hard to read the label on the website. I have searched Avon skin so soft adn found this particular one on ebay. I will try to post the link

ajaney - the Skin So Soft comes in a whole range of stuff - dry oil body spray, body wash, body moisturiser, etc. You are right, the one that a lot of people (me included) found worked well against mossie, sandflies, etc. is the range that comes in the white bottle with the blue label. This does not work for everyone and there is no obvious reason why it should work at all - it just seems to for some people

I have brought a lot of it over for friends in NC when I come on holiday as it's so much cheaper in the UK (where it is very cheap when Avon have it on special offer).

Hope this info helps, but please remember it doesn't seem to work for all. I would still use an good insect repellent as well.

Regards.

Try taking antihistamine tablets, they don't stop you from getting bitten, but they do stop them from swelling up, the avon skin so soft that I use is the pink bottle,

hope this helps you.

Hi

I always buy from Ebay - cheaer than from Avon. Here's a link. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Avon-Insect-Repellent-Skin-so-soft-SSS-Dry-oil-Spray-x3-/260256026762?pt=UK_HeathBeauty_BathShowCons_RL&hash=item3c9877d08a

And for mozzies, don't know if it works with sand flies: one a day garlic capsules and vitamin B tablets help, mozzie repellant that's minimum 50% deet, and they don't like marmite.

cheers

Jo Valentine
