How many cigarettes are you allowed to bring from the south to North?. Are they cheaper to buy in the North, Thanks for your help.

English cigs are 6.25tl (about £2.50) for 20 in the shops. About 1/2 theat in Ercan duty free.

a few years ago was taking my 14 yr old daughter back to larnca airport and went via the crossing with the british forces on duty (sorry, forgot the name).....



Had suffered the mis-fortune of being comprehensively searched couple of weeks before, so was on tender hooks, despite having "nothing to declare"....



So the solder asked "where you going an do you have any cigarettes or booze" ?? i explained i was taking my 14 yr old daughter to larnaca -and obviously she had none of these - he looked at her passport and waved us through......



200 yards up the road my daughter informed me that she'd got 10,000 cigarettes in her case to "sell at school" and 5 litres of vodka fora party she was going to the following week, again to sell to her mates..........



i was for once, stuck for words.....
