Similar situation, payed Mehmet Bilimer (Advocate) £500 9 years ago for ptp. Told me six months later that it had been approved but when I went to retrieve the necessary documents two years ago he'd 'lost' my file and then had an amnesia attack and couldn't remember who I was or the builder of my apartment he represented!

Avoid this crooked Advocate!

Try going to Lefkosia, the same building as you get Residency, but upstairs. We went (with Turkish speaker) and sure enough it was there. Told us 3 weeks before it got to Girne Land Registry office and once it is there you can try for your Deeds. Good luck.

Don't panic. Go to the Permission to Purchase office in the same builidng as the residency office, someone will show you where it is once you are inside. Sevil there speaks English, tell her what has happened and she will help you.

Alternatively, contact Marion Stokes of the Home Buyers Pressure Group - you will find her phone number and e mail address on the webpage. She will help you sort it out.

phoning is not good. Cost you a fortune, pass from one to another but if you want to go that route#

google Home Buyers Pressure Group - Marion has the number posted.

++ 0392 611 1127 Sevil/Osman/Adnan - waste of time but it is your time. Face to face better.

Surely it can cost more in petrol than what it will cost to make phone call ??

I always used to call and found them very helpful.

It is best to go to the office where you will actually get sight of your ptp and you can get all the information from it as well to either give your solicitor. It is what I did to get mine. By making a phone call you are open to abuse in that they could tell you anything and you aren't even sure that they have looked.

cooper - please don't make the mistake of thinking that making a phone call here is the same as in the U.K - you really do need to go in person. Drive to Lefkosa take the 2nd exit - keep driving until you see Arun Un Ltd on right hand side take left slip road at the lights. Then take 1st turning on right at end of that junction turn left and the building you require is straight in front of you.

Your ptp file number was possibly written on the inside of the front cover of your passport. good luck

Dearie i can only go on my personal experience, that being i got into the habit of phoning every month and after about six months i was given the news that our PTP had been accepted. And with me living in the UK it would have cost me a bit more than a gallon of petrol.

They probably got so fed up with me phoning but who said perseverance doesn't pay )

Interesting comment about poss number inside the front cover of passport...what format is the PTP number in? Mixture of letters and numbers? Just numbers? If so, how many?

Ask for a photocopy of the page in the book whilst there. I know they can do that, then you have proof positive.

Definitely not the number in passport - I have my PTP. The number they wrote in my passport is nothing like it, nor the is it like the original application number. Much good it did me. Akfinans saw to that.

I still say a word with Marion Stokes wil be a good idea, she has many contacts at the MInistry of the Interior.

the number in the passport is normally put there when you apply for residency first time.
