I take it you have been to Busy Bees in Bogaz? I cannot vouch for them as I know little other than they are there.

I know there are some decent estate agents out there (mine certainly) but there are too many people quick to tar them with the same brush (even if they don't know them) as many less reputable ones and their repution gets sullied as a result. I certainly don't want to run that risk (sorry).

I would stay well away from Unwins! as you can see above your post they say they are in the EEAU? sadly this organization no longer exists and I personally wouldn't trust this company and I speak from personal experience!

I will now await the fallout

I would skip the estate agent bit and recommend NOYANLAR CONSTRUCTION they build good quality homes in the Famagusta & Iskele areas and have a good reputation aswell as many satisfied customers ranging from all walks of life..

It really doesn't matter who the builder is,or how good their reputation is, unless they can transfer the deeds to you when you pay the money to them (which they can't do if the buyer is any other nationality than Turkish Cypriot) because the buyer won't have their Permission to Purchase!

Skipping any estate agent won't help! will it?

Please stay away from Sarcon homes. Noyanlar and Erbatu I would recommend.

Don't you agree it would be better for anyone to stay away from any builder that can't produce the deeds on exchange of the money?

I would agree on that with you msg 12. Sarcon Homes, be cautious of them. They will use your deposit money or what ever it is you will give up front just to con you.

Busmech - I think itis more difficult buying in the area you want, but not impossible. You have RE max in Famagusta and they are pretty good. Busy Bee seems to have the monopoly over that side. a lot depends also on whether you want new build or existing. personally I could not be bothered with new build - sometimes problems withparcelisation of land etc, but then others do not like older because of possible repairs etcv.

sorry your trip seemed fruitless, but the ideal property for you might not even be on the market yet!

There are good agents Kyrenia side but they don't deal much with the area you want. Noyanlar are good, so is Northerlands - keep looking, and I would agree that the advice given above seems good and fair.

Try the ones recommended above, and keep trying. the right place is there for you at the right time - you just need to keep looking, and also asking around. some properties are by private sale!

Try Remax - there is one in Famagusta - I have found them excellent - service second to none and a great support in timses of need. I visited the one in Famagusta when we were looking but we decided on Kyrenia. Also Remax has world wide franchise and therefore better procedures.

Try Platinum Properties. I listened to my friend Raider and tried Platinum Props. Just awesome. They are looking after my property these days. They gave me a special discount as well. Thank you ever so much Raider. Every penny counts. specially when you are living a retired life.

Msg9 Stonehousepub...No one Builds " Good Quality Homes" in TRNC..If you think they do you are only "Kidding Yourself"............. ...Property here is Cheap, there is no such thing as a Cheap Well Built House ,the two do not go together, you get exactly what you pay for ,and in some instances "Get to Legally Own It ""

Friends some conversations have nothing to do with the topic.

Stay to the topic Please.

And properties are cheap here...compare to UK. Isn't so. 1 bedroom studio apartment how much..120 K

here 3 bedroom apartment can be purchased for 50 K..
