Been a long time, yeah; but think I've finally sold the house.

Been planning for this for years, now. But still haven't figured out the berst way of moving.

Thanks, quackers. How can I contact her?

Hi negativenick; i'm sure I still need a passport to get into Tower Hamlets, especially from north of the river.

Hello Rick

I'll send you an email regarding your move from South to North Cyprus - it is something we have done, as recently as last month.

Very best regards

Having moved from Paphos District to TRNC 6 years ago - I just wish we'd stayed put! I know the most elderly couple at 'Kulaksiz 5' - knew them for 25 years in Paphos - you can only imagine how they rue the day they ever set foot here.

You can't have any idea what awaits you!

You state your age as 69 - if you fall ill in TRNC - then what? Can you afford to?

Do you intend to rent, or buy?

Our biggest mistake was to buy property - we should have rented until we found out what TRNC is 'all about'.

If you do come, I hope you enjoy the Immigration procedure/annual rigmarole!

Believe me, 'negativenick's' 'Uncle Percy's' advice should be ignored at one's peril!

Thanks Martin!

Actually, I never 'got the 'T' shirt' - the advocates ripped that off both our backs!

Hi Rick,

We have been thinking about moving from Paphos (Tsada) to the north for some time now.We have been over a few times now and each time we come back we want to move but just not sure whether to do the 'big leap' or not. What area are you moving to? Would love to hear how it's going for you so that we may have a better idea from someone who's actually doing it!!

Cheers

basher: I can't blame you for wanting to get out of Tsada - it's well known as the coldest place in Paphos District! Still, if you want to 'jump out of the frying pan into the fire' in terms of making a grave mistake where to chose to live, then please allow me to reccommend TRNC as absolutely the right choice!

I would advise anyone thingking of moving here not to sell up first - we had to, now we have nothing. We rent and wished we had done that in the first place we could have rented for 30 years for the amount we paid for a house we did not get - now others are in the same boat

- the coruption is in very high places and cascades down

- the Advocates lie to you from day one

- Drink is not cheap - local brandy is around 5tl (£2) you can buy a bottle for 4 - 5tl

I am not negative, I love it and I will put up with all the problems - I just wish I had made better decisions in the first place and I would have loved it even more.

If Turkey gets in the EU you will have more rights that you would now and the laws would change for the better (they will be real laws for everyone).

I suggest you move north to Nicolsia where you can cross the border whenever you wish and judge things before you 'jump from the pan into the fire'
