Most famous in world famous Salamis, the ancient capital of Cyprus, is the Roman/Greco Gymnasium. Legends and myths are still whispered there - if you're prepared to listen to the wind in this sandy area - maybe from as far back as 1100 years B.C.

My friend Bo de Visser, a photographer from Holland, put his camera on a column in the center of the Gymnasium and had the camera take a series of pictures. Here's the imo stunning result...

You can play with the buttons at the bottom of the picture to navigate to the left, right, up and down. And you can zoom in and out for a closer look wherever you want.

You'll find this 360º movie here:

▶ Go to line 0030_Gymnasium and click on | more |

Hope you like this special effect! Would be nice for the photographer to read here in English what you think... (Believe me, it was a lot of work!).

I'm sorry for the C44 members with a genuine interest in (Northern) Cyprus but I've taken the picture (msg 1) off line. Again it's not possible on Cyprus44 to keep stalkers and spoilers away from threads where they only enter to stir trouble. Again I apologise. I'll upload the file to another Bulletin Board, where decent people are welcome and troublemakers are moderated.

I suppose this URL will be deleted but maybe some people will read it before the deletion:

Re : Msg1,

Have seen the picture now.

Absolutely amazing! The feeling is that you are actually at the Gymnasium and you can almost touch the columns. And the sky...!

It's mesmerising!

Darling Bo, you are a genius. I adore your work.Thank you very much .

In admiration,

Clarissa

Re: Msg 2,

It is a shame that you feel that you have to stalk each thread about history and culture with your inane comments.

It is also a shame that as the result C44 members can not see the lovely picture!

Re : 'goose and gander'.

If I'm not interested in something, I do no read it.

No one prevents you from following NN's jokes.

Can you please stop your juvenile behavior and let the cultured people on this forum follow the threads they enjoy.

Please show some respect to others!

Re : Msg 3,

Dear DC,

I just wonder, if the picture could be put back on line for the people who appreciate history and culture and who acknowledge and respect the talent.

Thank you.
