I saw on Sky news the other day: - 80,0000 people on incapaciy benefit due to Obesity, Alchohol and Drugs These are addictions: Food, Drink and Drugs - Incapacity benefit is not right for these conditions - they should be treated without money as money means ability to buy more FOOD DRINK DRUGS!!!! - 12,000 people on incapcity benefit due to alcholism - where is the logic in giving them money which goes towards buying more alcohol??? These people CHOOSE not to work by the fact that feed their addictions Having worked for 30 years with the unemployed and 'disaddvantaged' (ie those with addictions and social outcasts) they need to be taken into an environment where they cannot feed their habit - even daily. We provided computer and other forms of training and it worked wonders - but they had to be there 9 - 5 each day.

The Government are responsible for laying down the guidelines and regulation and I know that many areas operate differently depending on how empathic or sympathetic the decision making official is. Unfortunately fueling the fire does nothing to help! Retraining and changing one's perspective does

I disagree Walkerscott... an individual can change their perpsective as much as he/she likes... but it won't make one iota of difference to how things are run. England needs it's own parliament to ensure that we have the same rights as Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Simples! Nothing more than they already have, just the same level, then only MPs from England can input to the running of things, just as we cannot input to theirs. Cake and eat it comes to mind!
