Sorry for butting in but as I'm also planning my wedding in October I just need to know is if you still have to get your documents legalized by visiting the TRNC Embassy in London or do the wedding planners sort this as well?

Thanks

Carjo yes you do still need to visit Bedford Square in London to get your papers stamped but any of the good planners here can supply you with the forms and guide you step by step. Please remember this has to be done no more then 3 months before the proposed wedding date and then the papers need to be registered here before the wedding can be booked and confirmed. Hope this helps but if you need anymore information please contact me info@north-cyprus-weddings.com

So did Manny get fixed up with the wedding of his/her dreams? Will Carjo book one of the wedding planners. I see from this thread that there are many offers to help and some of us are just curious to know what you have chosen. I admit I have a bit of a vested interest, but we won't talk about that, but I really AM interested.

The travelling to London is a bit of a 'pain' for some people, and as a tip, SOME people do the legal bit in U.K at the local regisrty office and then come out here and celebrate their wedding as the bit that matters.

I believe also that the forms required can be downloaded. But the wedding planners can give you the answers, unless of course you are independent and need to know exactly what to do yourself.

Hope you both have the wedding of your dreams.

Marion. We may never get to know what they have chosen, there have been numerous posts on this subject but the posters never come back, too much information to digest?

shame though. i always like to know if people have solv ed their problems and living happily ever afterwards!!!! And also I know that people change their minds and give up on the idea of a ceremony out here. Understandable.especially if the challenge is daunting.

Maybe the information is not so much indigestible but more unacceptable!!!!

Thanks Teresa, I have been reading all the forums and there is loads of good advice but this seems to be the only pain thing to do once you have booked a wedding planner. We live several hundred miles from London so may have to rethink our plans. I was hoping the embassy may just stamp docs already authorised by a Notary. Oh well, will just have to persuade my partner into a shopping trip!!!

Sorry Woodspeckie I did reply to Teresa but it has not been posted. I expect that once we have read all the information and finally made a decision the forum will have slipped right down the list so is difficult to find. I will let you all know what I choose whenever that may be!

Cheers to everyone!

Manny,

If you are looking to get married this July, you really need to start on the paperwork required, which can differ depending on your circumstances.

Hi people!!

My best friend is getting married here in June and as i live here, and she doesn't, I've been sorting stuff out this end... She is getting married at the Acapulco and they have been fantastic... we went in for a food tasting session last week and it was spectacular!!! They are getting married in the amphitheatre early evening (just before sunset) and then the wedding meal is round the pool area in the evening. Despite not always being quick in responding to emails, they have been amazingly helpful and are providing everything - table decs etc... and it is exceptional value for money... if you want to email me off board, I would be happy to give any advice I can from my limited experience.

Good luck!!

Spanna.

I only know Vashti at N.C.Weddings and Carol at Cyprus Weddings, They both have a First Rate Reputation.

Also very suprising how much better value it is here for a superb wedding compared to the U.K.

Woodspeckie people post on here for advice and when they have got the advice they wanted there is no obligation to come back and update everyone. This is a very personal subject and takes time to check everything out.

Message 30 is interesting, because there are now many people who are part of the wedding planning business, mainly due to the increase in those coming here, but I find it strange that youu knew nothing of Carol Balck-well Gibbs who has beenvery successful planning weddings for some considerable time, and Vashti (as advertised above) who, as has been stated, virtually fully booked for this year. And yet my ignorance is hanging out here because I have never heard of fikret.

all good stuff for Cyprus, isn't it? A great boost to the economy and of course it just shows how good the wedding planners are. Plus on top of that there are many people who go it independently.

Who plans a wedding for July

then asks for advice this late ?

But all the wedding companies got good adverts

If you are getting marrried abroad

I suggest you find out the legal facts

within 3 months of the ceremony

Especially if 250 guests have to arrange flights and accomadation

and time off work etc

The words "hopefully July " ring alarm bells

Go on a wedding forum

these bridezillas have been planning for years

Well as I promised to let you know I'm afraid we decided that the trip up yo London would take us nearly as long as the fight to Cyprus so we have booked Malta instead. However, we are planning our first wedding anniversary in Kyrenia so see you in October 2012!

Good luck with your wedding, feel July wedding in Malta better option as so dam hot here in July. Also agree cost of obtaining paperwork from London adds too much on to total cost of wedding here.
