Thank you to all who donated 1tl each and more to my collection for the Childrens Renal Unit at Great Ormond St at the 112 quiz last night, which will enable the Always Hope Charity through Wellchild to purchase laptops for the long term patients use. A total of 176tl was raised. Further donations or ideas to improve this amount please call 05338710847.

MMmmm, sorry, please excuse my ignorance, but are you saying that people donated to 112, and the money went, or is going to Great Ormond St., in UK?

flowerfairy - I'm glad you asked because I was wondering the same thing myself?

Can you two not read. Juniper clearly states that there was a collection at the 112 quiz night. This voluntary donation was collected after the 112 quiz night had finished; not during the evenings event and we were fully aware that this collection was for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Well done Juniper for trying to help others. Flowerfairy and jeannie please stop trying to cause trouble.

Message 4 - I can read perfectly well, thank you.

Since when has asking a question (satisfactorily answered, thank you) constitute causing trouble?

jeannie, you may claim to be able to read; but your understanding of the written word is in question.

There are those in our little community who take delight in questioning the possible integrity of someone who selflessly collects for charity. To allege that monies collected for 112 may be redirected to another good cause, is quite mildly, tantamount to causing trouble.

Message 6.

Firstly, I think my understanding of the written word is as good as anyone's.

Secondly, I DID NOT and WOULD NOT question the possible integrity of anyone who collects for charity, unless it seemed extremely dubious and even then I would not question this unless I had made extensive enquiries. Where have I alleged that monies collected for 112 were going to be appropriated elsewhere?

I have already thanked you for the explanation but I found the statement a little misleading.

Please accept my apologies. Maybe YOUR understanding of the written word is in question?

Message 6 (continued)

Mr Vince - I have just gone back and re-read my message No.3. I can understand now how it might read. Please accept my sincere apologies; I appreciate that it sounds as though I was insinuating (by agreeing with message No.2) that the monies collected WERE possibly going towards the GOSH charity. This was certainly not my intention. What I found a bit puzzling was that the fundraiser was being held for a particular charity whilst the monies collected were going to another. I now see that the GOSH collection was in addition.

Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for the misunderstanding.

Well, good morning to you both........Mr Vince, can I have my head back now please???.

Jeannie, what can I say? I ditto all you say in mess.8, except I do not appologise for my query.

I needed to clarify ''What I found a bit puzzling was that the fundraiser was being held for a particular charity whilst the monies collected were going to another.''

Many people fear posting on this board for this very reason.

Both of these charities are close to my heart, and long may their successful fundraising continue.

Mr Vince, I found your post extremely harsh and uncalled for.

Flowerfairy & Jeannie - I apologise for the wording of my 'Thank You' on this forum, which I rarely use, but it was intended to reach the people who had left the quiz night before I was able to thank them personally. Always Hope has been set up under the umbrella of Great Ormond Street and Wellchild to specifically purchase laptops (and hopefully other educational/activity related needs) for the childrens renal unit, which are not available via NHS.

Juniper

I would like to echo flowerfairy's sentiments in message 14 - congratulations.

When we lived in greater London, my job there as a medical secretary (Paediatrics) brought me into contact with GOSH very often and so I know a little of what this wonderful hospital do - a very worthy cause indeed.

Kind regards.

Jean
