What a crazy afternoon at the Pine Bay Club where the "Alsancak Backgammon & Chess Club (ABCC)" had a meeting (announced on this board yesterday and today, circa 700 views)!

All tables were occupied but many spectators focussed on the dominoes match between HildySmith and Spider - what an interesting game! Thank you very much for coming and showing your skills, ladies!

Furthermore the "ABCC Committee" (MikeLapta, Ian W. and DC) would like to thank all the interested expats attending. Too bad you didn't see Guido S. play - if you weren't there! And Roma and Ann! Great match, ladies!

All the players of lesser quality are not mentioned here, but you know who you are.

A special thank you goes to regular "spectator Tootie" and lovely dog "Miss Milly"!

P.S. The ABCC Committee has decided to introduce a stop on membership. Next week you're welcome to watch again, but as a player you're on the waiting list and your membership will be subject to approval.

There are still vacancies....FREE of charge to learn to playTavla. This is the game you see local men play outside coffee bars...it is a marvellous game...so much luck.Even a beginner can win !!!!

So if you are serious about living here, learn the language,and/or learn to play Tavla.

Experienced players give of their time to teach you the game !!!

I have been playing on and off for about 20 years during holidays to Turkey !!!

I look forward to teaching anyone who is interested.

Re : Msg 10,

Thank you, Guido!

So if I win, you'll cook me Actice al vapore e fughi di bosco.

Should you win ... .... ( Well, it is highly unlikely ).

When mere ABCC members (some not even approved yet!) start running the business where does that leave the Committee..?

Urgent: Committee members, please make a note: emergency meeting this Tuesday, 1.30 pm, just before all the games - chess, backgammon, Okey, scrabble, dominoes etc - start at 2 pm, the Pine Bay Club.

Msg 16

After a wild mushroom picking expedition into the mountains last October, I became a fun guy to be with, a magical experience!

20 hours and no reply, Richard. Must be engrossed in "the wedding"

Do you really not charge at Watermill's chess + days? No wonder "we know who" isn't a player.

Can you credit a Brit basher "sans cesse" who hovers around anything that has a £ sign attached.

Even the "most gullible" amongst us will soon see the light, nothing in this life, especially here is "free".

To the self serving intelligent guy, who depises us Brits, but not our money, I say this,

"Duc, sequere, aut via decede" or in the vernacular "pxss or get off the pot"

ps to the guy who says that the Brits are here because they are not welcome at home.

Could be because we can beat our wives up, put them in hospital, without their male kin seeking retribution.

Not saying that's how our near Euro cousins look at it, but in the light of a previous post, it's worth considering. Might explain the vitriol from the deranged wife beater for anything British.

Denizen it isnt a buisness, no money changes hands. Everything said is tongue in cheek. As for a wife beater I do not know who you refer to but I would take that back if i were you

I wasn't the one that mentioned money Liz. The wife beating was also posted by another member, now banned, I think. I don't need to take anything back, that's for the Mods, they decide what is germane on here.

If bigmouth stops playing God and running down the Brits, who pay his wages, then maybe even half Brits, like me, would not feel the need to retaliate. Until then, "let he who sows etc.

To the moderators.

For how long should the members of this forum endure the inane and malicious posts of this creature, which is not only a disgrace to her nation, but to all women from polite society.
