eagleyemonkey. This is a personal question but we find this part of Turkey far better than TRNC, the people are more genuine, the scenery is stunning, life is more laid back and in the town it is more cosmopolitan. However, Turkey is a vast country and some parts can be dangerous and intimidating for Europeans. Dalyan has a fairly large European population per capita and is also a very busy tourist area in summer. You should go and have a look, see for yourself.

msg 6. If you keep to the tourist parts of Turkey there are no problems, I have had holidays from Antalya right along the coast up to Foca and never felt in any danger or felt intimidated, in fact I feel safer there on my own than I do when I am in North Cyprus. I would recommend Dalyan had holidays there 6 times.

Exactly woodspeckie, I think you are right. Great place. The river is fantastic with the water taxis going to the fabulous Iztuzu beach and the lake, restaurants, mud baths, roman ruins. Wow.

Hi Ronnie, unfortunately none at present since CTA went bust, they used to fly into Dalaman which is 30 mins away from Dalyan. Now you have to go into Antalya or Izmir or Istanbul/Dalaman.

We usually go to Antalya which is cheap and quick and then hire a car ( 3 hours) or catch a dolmus ( 5 hours), the dolmus is cheap and interesting as you see a lot of Turkey on the way up.

We were hoping the New CTA would be up and running by now as they were promising a Dalaman flight but no luck yet.
