Took my wife for a birthday treat to Quente. Never again. Service was shambolic. Treated like second class customers - we appeared to be the only ex-pats there. Lost interest in meal and left 30 mins after main course, still awaiting the sweet course.



Complained to manager who showed no interest. I then mentioned publicity on Cyprus44, then he started listening to me; but it was too late then we had enough of the non-existent service.



Mr Moderator- Please do not delete the above comment. I am not in the habit of criticising, but this was the worst service we had encountered in the 6 years of living here and for the privelege they charged us just short of 200TL. I think your readers should know.

I am so sorry that you didn't have a good meal.

We went there last week-end and had a fantastic meal and the waiters were really on the ball.

When was it that you went as we did hear bad reports last year?

We are glad that we gave it a try and will definitely go again.

If the prices are displayed beforehand and the goods are as described then where is the Rip off? It may be expensive but any business has a right to charge what it likes. If you don't think the setting, service and myriad other things are worth the price don't buy it, it's as simple as that.

for the service they give and the prices they want is not good enough it is a rip off or as you call it the usual rip off quote i didn't mind paying the price they want but i should get my monies worth waiting an hour for the main course wasn't on the menu as far as i recall. so its not that simple as you put it . its false advertising as far as i am concerned would not recommend it to any one

Just been to Quente today with party of 16 & will comment on my experience only.

Service prompt, with very inventive 5 cold hor's derv, 4 hot ditto, unlimited meat served off the sword to your plate.Chicken,veal,beef,lamb chops,lamb leg,hearts,fried bananas; round robin to our table again and again till we put up the red card and said "enough"!Sweets excellent,creme brule (with gas torch!),wines excellent, complimentary brandy. Cost for 2 persons inclusive of all drinks 140tl.

Who should go? Parties wanting a long leisurely meal,lots of chat and fun,josh with waiters etc.we took 4 hours over the meal and went away very full of good food,well satisfied.

Who should not go?Anyone in swimming shorts and beer-belly enhancing T-shirts wanting a quick egg & chips before the match! Quente is a sort of up-market Brazilian TGI Fridays.No steak pies on the menu,so try their fried polenta or baked pineapple in cinnamon.

Excellent value, great service, am planning the next visit already.

I personally think its great value for money £20 a head for unlimited meat and loads of choice - Ok the wine is a tad expensive but the cost is in front of you so its not a shock - in fact I'm off there tonight
