There is a new Satelite TV package called D-Smart and it has sports channels and the english football can be viewed the total cost is £240 a one off payment. There is of course the Nilesat package that is also still available with approx 20 english channels at £160 a once off payment.

hi

dsmart is not new has been going on for about a year or so, basically it is located on turksat where most of the channels are free to air like cnbce, e2 and tnt

so paying for this box just to get 5 discovery channels, animal planet, fx (fox), movie smart (old movies), comedy smart (comedy programmes), eurosport, is not worth it the quality of the programmes are very poor

you do get football but champions league not premireship plus the boxes are not that great they are slow and unresponsive, so i would think twice before investing in this

prob the best and cheapest system to go for is the hotbird and nilesat system with the next box and the software i provide to open a whole load of english channels if you want to know anything further contact me via email or on the boeard and i will be happy to explain or ask other members who have had this done and they can tell you

regards

I'd like to put my two penneth in praise of Erkan, UK Turk too. I too installed his software and the guy had the patience of a saint helping set mine up. The day we did it the internet was so slow and Skype was unbelievably erratic but he still soldiered on. The end result is I have the best TV package I've ever had regardless of whether it is subscription or free to air one of payment. Excellent service and end product.

hi oddjob

if you want bbc to chan 5 you will need over a 4mt dish which can be quite costly and the u have to have the space its quite big!! lol

if your not that bothered bout bbc and itv you can get a 1.8mt dish that will get you chan4 and 5, not forgetting you also need a sky box

there is another option like what stevie was talking about is buying two 90cm dishes and a next sat box which i set up for you and provide you with the software thru the net which opens lots of movie channels, general entertainment aswell four spin off bbc channels and lots more but no normal uk tv channels

this is also a cheaper option but still worth it the set up costs around £200-£250 and my fee for the software and helping you set it all up which is done over skype

if you want to know anything further email i will be glad to explain anything further

Contact Digital Supreme along the Lapta road they install a system with more english channels than you can handle. All the english and american soaps, films, all the english, spanish, german, italian league footbal and champions league.

I think the price is only 50 ytl amonth which one of the cheapest on the Island, he can also give you a price if you want the big giganctic Dish to get BBC1 and ITV though I dont think its necessary.

Good Luck

Hye everyone.

Just like to repeat our thanks to UK Turk for his help and support over the last month. He has even liased with Tektan for us about some of the problems we had been having with their installation (or lack of !!).

Has anyone here in TRNC got a 1.8m motorised dish ? If so have you had any problems with it not stopping at the correct setting or anything similar? If you haven't had any problems where did you get the dish and motor ?Tektan are saying that we need a 1.8m dish (for what we want to watch - specifically footy) but a motorised 1 (to incorporate the other sats that we already have) will not work here and we will have to keep fine tuning it !

Thanks
