No not another post about that wedding. I have just watched the latest episode of something that does make me feel proud to be British and that is.... Britain's Got Talent What makes me proud is not the acts, but the reaction of the audiences, that can and do take acts to their heart as diverse as the 44 year old dancing airplane cleaning lady with really no talent at all through to the acapella lady gaga covering oxford university toffs. Audiences that care nothing of the ethnic backgrounds of acts on a show called Britain's Got Talent. There is for me a generosity of spirit and warmth and empathy for the acts from the audience that does indeed make me proud to be British. I see it as a kind of modern day contemporary equivalent of British spirit that harks back to ones of previous generations like the 'blitz spirit'. Royalty ? Personal am indifferent to it either way. But Britiain's Got Talent audiences, now that brings a warm glow of pride to my heart.

Erolz Couldn't agree more, a couple of weeks ago there was a husband and wife hand bell ringing act that was extremely ordinary until the audience started singing and waving along to their Titanic piece it then made it memorable and they got through to next round.

Yeah I do feel there is somenthing very 'British' about the way the audiences behave on this show. The love of eccentricity and for an underdog. As you say ronnie the bell ringing couple , hard to imagine anything other than a British audience reacting to them the way they did. In the US they would have been booed off from the start just for the way they look. Even when acts are 'booed' from the stage it is done without malice it seems to me but in a good natured very 'British' manner.
