Can anyone advise where I might buy eye drops for a cat. I am a bit concerned because his inner eyelid is not opening fully and is covering part of the eyeball even when the eyes are open. When he first turned up his eyes always seemed a bit grungey so I am guessing that he has an infection. I cannot take him to the vets because i will be ripped to bits but am happy to try eye drops or what ever else anyone can advise.

You can't take him to the vets, because you will be ripped to bits (vets have ways to hold animals still without anyone being harmed) but you can get close enough to hold his head, open up his eye, and put drops in, whilst keeping him still to do so?

Yes I can do that although it would probably take ages as it did to administer a worm tablet- it would be the car journey to the vets that would be a nightmare - he is not a domestic cat and I don't have a cat carrier!

Before I do that I wondered if anyone knew if I can buy eye drops for cats. If that works then it will be a lot less traumatic for the poor cat.

You must be really careful what you put in a cats eye. I started giving my cat eye drops but this only made the infection worse! PLEASE, ring Pertev (cat vet) on 0533 8635818 for advise first.

It is essential that you take him to the vets!!! You should NEVER try to treat cats eyes yourself. GET HIM TO THE VETS STRAIGHT AWAY
