Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I have just imported a wide range of sun tan lotions, oils, after suns and insect repellents in to North Cyprus. The brands are Calypso and Cabana.

I will be selling direct to the public at the following venues:

Açmenya Restaurant market in Alsancak on Thursday afternoons

Chateau Lambousa in Lapta on Saturday mornings

Pembe Gül Garden Centre in Ozanköy on Sunday mornings

Possibly other venues but not confirmed yet

And, if you would be interested in purchasing on a wholesale basis, this can be accommodated, just let me know.

Just a reminder if you're looking for sun tan lotion, aftersun, insect repellent or perfumes/aftershaves for yourself or as a gift for someone else, the stall will be on Lambousa for you tomorrow.

Hi Pippie

Are you able to get Elizabeth Arden - RED DOOR - REVEALED? I adore this and last bought it duty free at Heathrow - unfortunately now all gone and am not planning to go to the UK - enquired in Gırne they said this is now discontinued? Be great if you can achieve this task.

No1, sorry I've only got the distributorship for Calypso and Cabana. Calypso do do a 'once a day' product but we chose not to bring it for the moment - wanted to see how sales of the others went for now.

I spoke to the maufacturers for P20 last year but they said they were not interested in selling to North Cyprus!

Dearie, sorry I can't help there I'm afraid. At the moment I only have distributorship control for the items I mentioned above. In perfumes this includes 'America' range (this is the old Playboy brand which has been renamed), Idyllis and Oxide, Madonna, Disney, Betty Boop, High School Musical and Hannah Montana perfumes.

However, I have just found it on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Elizabeth-Arden-RED-DOOR-REVEALED-100ml-EDP-NEW-GENUINE-/190499845003?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Fragrances_Women_s_Fragrances_PP&hash=item2c5aacf38b for £18.99. My suggestion is to buy this and have it delivered to a friend in the UK who will bring it out for you.

Hi NCMan, I don't have any plans for Soyz Bar on Sunday, I'm a regular at Pembe Gül Garden Centre in Ozanköy (on the road to Bellapais Abbey, next to the KPet Petrol Station) if you want to come along to have a look. Besides the garden centre you have a wide range of goods on offer from new household appliances, new clothes, second hand clothes, bric a brac, jewellery, local artwork and pottery and of course the snack bar which has now started doing BBQ afternoons for the summer at only 5tl a head.

And of course don't forget the sun tan lotions I have on sale!

Hi Marksaram, yes we've got the dry oil for both Calypso and Cabana. Good choice that one - for anyone who hasn't tried it before, it's an oil but soaks in to the skin well and does not leave you sticky or slimey. Oil always leaves you looking good in the sun with an instant glow but the good thing with these are that you can get them in extremely high factors so ensuring you're still protected.

Anyhow, enough of the salespitch!

Calypso Dry Oil - factor 6 (25tl), factor 10 (27tl), factor 15 (27tl), factor 30 (37tl)

Cabana Dry Oil - factor 6 (19tl), factor 15 (20tl), factor 20 (22.50tl)

And, if anyone wants to buy at wholesale rates (min 6 bottles), that can be arranged too.

Hi numbers,

Specifically for Kids I have the following:

Calypso sun lotion tube factor 50 at 40tl

Cabana sun lotion spray factor 30 at 27tl

The Factor 50 that you asked about is not a 'once a day' lotion however the description on it is "Contains sun-screening agents to protect your skin from harmful UVA & UVB radiation. It is light and non-greasy, with gentle moisturisers that replenish the natural oils lost by exposure to the sun, wind and water. Being photostable the lotion maintains the level of protection between applications. "

And the details of the Cabana I mentioned are: A light non-greasy formula, with gentle moisturisers that replenish natural oils lost by exposure to the sun, wind and sea. Ideal for sensitive & very fair skin types. Vibrant fruity floral fragrance, 4 star superior rated UVB/UVA protection, suitable for children, dermatologically tested, water resistant"

For info I also have Calypso factor 30 disappearing lotion spray (blue) coming in around 2wk

Do high factor sun screens prevent you from tanning? Or would that be a sun block?

Hi Deniz, sorry I didn't reply earlier.

Suntan lotion, shields your skin from the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation. By absorbing and/or reflecting dangerous UVA and UVB rays, sunscreen helps protect you from skin cancers. "Sun protection factor" measures the ability of suntan lotion to protect your skin from UV-B rays (the ones that cause sunburn, UVA is the one that causes skin to wrinkle and 'leather'!). Suntan lotions with larger SPF numbers will protect the skin from UVB for a longer duration.

Sunblock means the lotion contains ingredients that prevent ultraviolet rays from penetrating the top layers of your skin and damaging the skin cells below. Sunscreen contains ingredients that do not prevent penetration of ultraviolet light, but do prevent damage to the innermost dermal layers

Sunblock is opaque and is stronger than sunscreen since blocks a majority of the UVA/UVB rays and radiation from the sun, thus not having to be reapplied several times a day.
