I will recommend AKSA Brand, they are mostly assembled in Turkey and they use known brands of alternator and engine and they have a reasonable aftersale service in TRNC. Look up the telephone directory for "EMPA" Company. Let me know if you have any difficulty contacting them. Theyahve offices in Lefkosa.

Gooner, why do you want a generator? What is the logic behind your decision to buy one? Just interested because a lot of money is wasted on them here...

How many power cuts are you getting?

We used to get frequent irregular ones... i.e. ones that came out of the blue and at the most inconvenient times... but....

For quite some time now we have hardly had any and they are genrally so short lived that it's not really a bother (touch wood immediately that man) and I just can't be doing with all the hassle of owning, maintaining and using a generator... we did have one which got nicked about 1 year ago but decided not to replace it as I'd only used it about twice... To be fair I'd only bought it because our marble layers needed the use of one...

They are so expensive to run, mostly noisy, smelly and ecologically unsound...

If you gave me one I'd only use it if I had a power cut when the Christmas turkey was in the oven!

Think how many meals out your friend could have instead....
