does anyone know where you can buy waterpoof paint in the TRNC for the inside of a new swimming pool? rather than tiling it as it is said emptying and refilling causes the tiles to move??

Tayf or Marshalls as everyone calls it.

I am sure TRNC Vaughan can advise you better about tiling but if you pool is well constructed and the tiles are fitted properly I would see no reason not to tile. I have had no problems whatsoever with my tiled pool.

I know someone who has a painted pool here.

He gets the paint from a specialist in the UK(bloody expensive as i recall!).

Needed painting every 4 or 5 years(strong Sun here bleached & nackered it)!

Chlorinated rubber paint is/was favoured by American pool owners/builders. I don't know where you would buy it here or why you would want to. Tiling, properly done, is the way to go.

Find a good tiler. Check out their work and try to get some recommendations.

Hi I tried this about a year or so ago & I found that I would have to get it from uk or states but cost would be very very high almost 100 pounds for a very small tin & paint would not last long. hope this helps you.

I did not do it in the end because of cost at the time. I only wanted to paint a picture of winnie the pooh & co on the bottom of the pool. Mary

Pool paint can be purchased from Marshalls main branch its from Spain.

The ultimate pool surface in our view is Marcite - Almost all pools in Florida USA commercial and residential have this finish.

But because pools here are constructed alittle different (straight walled) tiles are your best bet for longevity.

Do you know where Marcite can be purchased in TRNC? Is this Marcite similar to Diamond Brite or Marbelite?

My parents who own Number 14 restaurant in Girne have always painted their pool and they have had to use a specialist in the UK as the paint here was no good. I am sure they could arrange for it to be delivered here for you call them on 0542 859 2072.
