Msg 1

Funniest post in a long time! Anyone with a problem contact me with bottle in hand and we'll discuss the failures, mistakes and errors of our ways!

I've created a new club, AU; 'Alcoholics Unanimous', whereby if you don't feel like a drink, phone me up and I'll talk you into it!

Re : Msg 2,

Or it could be ' Alcoholics Ubiquitous' - very appropriate!

Last week I attended an AA meeting, and to my horror, each person present stood up and openly admitted to

being an alcoholic. I'm not having these boastful drunkards repairing my car. I only hope the RAC have more

responsible employees!

rocking has put this post on as a serious item. Why treat it as joke, I'm ashamed that you do.

It's to easy to mock on here please think before you make glib posts.

I agree also, as a functioning alcoholic, I now realise that an alcoholic is someone who drinks just as much as you do who you don't like! Or was that Oscar Wilde?

Lets face it. Alcohol has been with the human race for thousands of years, its in our psychie. Otherwise you're going to wake up in the morning and think, "Is this is as good as its going to get?"

No, of course not, at the end of the day you're going to think, yep, time for a dinkypoo! I deserve it!

Its a reward thing.

Paul

No joke. There is yet to be a defined definition of an 'alcoholic'. I drink everyday so my 'dependency' is just that. I financially support of my 'habit', hurt no one in my daily functions (except when on C44!) and live quite 'ish in a reasonable happy self-contained mode of life worrying only about others and World affairs. My self-abuse/indulgence or whatever, is my affair but at least I'm self-deprecating, trying not to often to take the 'higher than thou' path.

Thank you for the post Rocking, and those who have responded in a respectful manner. Good to know that there is help there for those who feel they need it and want someone to turn to who will understand and not mock. Those who do not want or need the help of AA are not being asked to do anything.
