I am not sure why people automaticaly assume that MS are buying skype so they can 'destroy' it ?

Certainly they could afford to spend 8billion USD or so buying it and then destroy it and there are possible senarios where this might be in the interest to do, but I think it is just as possible they want to buy it because they think it is a good asset and that they can develop it and improve and derive useful profits from its operation.

Fair comment erolz, although I have a feeling MS will want to put there stamp on it and thats when the problems start.

MS want Skype so to compete with the Google and Apple smart phones.

The numbers 2 and three "VOIP" companies are ready to take over the number one position. Compared to other voip facilities Skype is outdated already. Agree with your friends/business partners which software to use - and you are working hassle free. Skype? Tsk.
