Mr Lennon has done a fantastic job in his first full year in football management and has brought back passion and excitement to the club. The issue here rests with the bigots who call themselves football fans and constantly abuse Mr Lennon. He gets a verbal pounding at every Scottish football ground and now opposing fans are even trying to assault him live on Sky TV. During the last month several viable improvised explosive devices and live ammunition have been posted to him. No wonder his face is not as bland as your Rollo. These events have highlighted SCOTLAND’S SHAME.

Rowlo. open your mind a little.....you don't have to like him,...but nobody has to hate him. I am sure all old firm suporters are passionate about their team, I know I am. The problem with Scotland is that there are too may Catholics & Prodestants...and not enough Christians among them. He has made too many mistakes for my liking with his approuch and outburst, can be a bit embarassing. He will learn from it I am sure and has the potential to be a great manager, if only the bigots would give him some understanding of the external pressure he is under. As a Celtic man muyself, I am happy with the way he has changed the team around this year and the direction they are going. Hopefully he will not be driven away from the club he loves as it would be a bad day if we can terrorise people to "go away" and let the real bigots win. Hail Hail

Mr Rowlo, I see from your information that you live in Edinburgh. You must be related to that Edinburgh Hearts Thug who attacked Mr Lennon in the technical area the other night to spout this rubbish. Yes Mr Lennon has been a bit lippy; at times quite rightly so, as Scottish football does look biased at times against Celtic, his employers. Do you remember the "delay" in registration of one player Caddette. The SFA admitted they deliberately held back on this registration to the detrement of Celtic. Do you remember the incedent of a top SFA referee official sending sectarian emails. Or a director of an opposing team being sacked for singing sectarian songs. Or referees going on strike because they were caught lieing in an official report about a game. Or the other half of the Old Firm having to play behind closed doors because of sectarian singing. Bullets and bombs are not welcome in Scotland.

I'm just a man so just leave me be. Honour and passion I,m sure you'll agree Born in Ireland divided by lines Born to play football even in troubled times All that I want is to be left alone No bombs no bullets or threats on the phone What is my crime what have I done To be confronted at work by people with a gun They can do what they want they can say what they say But I love my club and I wont go away WE ARE ALL NEIL LENNON stevie-d

Hi Rowlo ..a somewhat surprising post.. though I guess it explains [ a LOT !] the mountain that those hoping to end sectarianism in sport face.... :( I'm an Prod from N.Ireland and when Rangers play Celtic, I admit to wanting Rangers to win - but I'm ashamed of 'supporters' who can't see they are bigots on both sides.. Lennon was captain of N.Ireland and had to resign because of death threats in 2002- they weren't the first time his family had had 'crap' .. IF the guy is a bit 'shorter' in the fuse - I can hardly blame him... there appear to be a LOT of 'nutter's' who believe all the hype / hatred associated with being born into one tribe or t'other.. I'd rather see the action on the pitch... http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2002/aug/22/football.northernireland

I do not condone for one second the treatment being handed down to Neil Lennon, however he has had his moments and is known for his associations and leanings, it just bemuses me that a club of the stature and standing of Glasgow Celtic, decided to give him the job, unless maybe they thought his passion for all things Celtic could ignite and galvanise a team of mainly foreign mercenaries into being winners as if they understood what Celtic are all about, that is a Scottish team With Irish Catholic roots, my own personal opinion is there are eminently better suited professionals out there who would be good ambassadors for the club. Does Henrik Larsson have his coaching badges ?

Rowlo, you are indeed a clown and a bigot if your post is not a wind up. No doubt this is a better summary of Wednesday's events for people like you. What an outrage... Lifelong Hearts supporter overcome with emotion runs on to shake the hand of Jim Jefferies to congratulate him on 3rd place and getting into Europe... Alan Thomson trips him up in an act of thuggery, then him and Lennon lay into him in an act of sectarian frenzy, nearby police then frame the poor guy for assault. Talk about paranoia and victim brutality, I for one, hope justice prevails.... A Rangers supporting friend of mine sent this this morning and I had a laugh at it as I know not all Rangers supporters are as small minded as you. The ones I know including some of my family members and the good "bears" I have met in TRNC are all decent people. He sent it in jest and it was taken as such. But your 1st post is offensive as well as stupid.....Grow Up

Hi Clairegordon, an interesting post, can you explain in more detail what Lennon's known assiciations and his leanings are. I know very little of Neil Lennon's background but it would be interesting to find out.

re 22/24 I, for one, was hoping you'd point us folk (not clued up on what Mr Lennon has done that's SO 'bad' ) with links for us to peruse... This all kicked up BIG time with he left Leicester to play for Celtic.. re msg 20 I born born - apparently told I must 'kick with the right foot', married a R.Catholic lass - ( 'left footer' for those who are keeping up) and went on to marry a Russian Orthodox lass.. Do you think YFred can tell me if I'm now 'gifted' or 'blighted' ? ;D

Message 24 Yes I agree there is more to it and as I previously alluded, there is still a deep rooted issue in Scotland with bigotry which is shameful. This is nothing to do with Neil Lennon being a feisty or animated character as there are other managers who behave as bad, if not worse, such as Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson. I am not prepared to get involved in an in-depth debate on the religion on a forum that is supposed to provide information on the Paradise that is North Cyprus.
