We took our friends to Patina's last night as a thankyou whilst we have been over having previously been there on several occassions, what a disaster. Table booked for 7.30pm, sat down and drinks and food order taken (did make a note of the waiter in tatty jeans) at 8.15 were shown to our table and offered bread (all ok so far) by 9.15 our food had still not arrived although the two tables of eight were getting their food although the chef was meeting the only waiter half way up the stairs to deliver it. At this point we called the manager over politely and asked what the problem was, he in turn could not give us an answer. We felt by this time as three out of the four of us were still hungry that we would go elsewhere so paid the bar bill and left for Rafters where our food was delivered within 20 mins of ordering. Not a place that none of us now will return to for a good while.

Will never use Patina again. Living on their past reputation, and on their mad regulars who do not know any better.

I used to enjoy Patinas, but I just don't know what on earth has happened since the new people took it over. With regard to the those who still go, I suspect it's a case of the Emperors New Clothes!! We had a bad meal, cold and poorly served, left it a while to give them a second chance and it was awfull again. Not for us now. There are plenty of other places to go to. Pity, because the surroundings and garden are lovely. Tango1

A pity Housain subsequently Hohan ran a good show an occasional blip but no major problems sometimes change can be a problem Out side at night truly magical but then Rafters Abas and the staff are first rate outside also beautiful Competition is stiff and the customers are fewer

Woodspeckie, fast food it was not just people who consistantly know how to treat their customers we have never had a bad meal at Rafters. Also on the Patina theme, I fail to understand the mentality of these people, they try to promote "fine dining" but surely that also extends to the outside area. They are due to go outside for dining any day now so surely the gardens should be tended, the weeds taken out the borders, the weeds and grass growing between the paving slabs on the way to the outside seating area should be removed? Yes I agree another place living on it's past reputation.

Messages 6 and 9 do agree, the best fine dining here was the Ilgaz Club for sure it was divine. For a great night out Efendis is as good as it gets and it is wonderful.

At Patina last year (our first visit there) we went with a couple of friends. After an interminably long wait our food arrived. Mine was swordfish. It was completely bad - yes, bad as in 'gone off' I spat it out and almost vomited at the table. My friends called the manager over, and he asked if I could eat anything else and pointed out that he 'would not charge for the fish'. I settled on a chicken curry, my God, when that came it was disgusting also. Had frozen bits of chicken in the middle of it. We paid our bill in full (to our shame) and will never go again no matter who owns it. I never want to come that close to food poisoning again.
