Rather worse than a shame in my book. Can anyone recommend somewhere else offering similar quality and value?

Such a shame. This is what happens when the government refuse to give foreigners work permits!! How the hell can tourism survive if hard working people cant work. People will holiday and eat elsewhere.

The criteria for a work permit is give a local a job. Well they will be hard pushed to replace Terry with a local i dont think that will be easy.

Me too Grouch, I was planning on this week but I really hope that for Vaughans sake it gets sorted soon. Before the nasties all make assumptions . They really dont need lounge barristers

Deniz1,

There you go again with your assumptions about work permits.

Lilli,

You are assuming that Eleanor Rigbys has something to do with me.

It doesn't.

Yes the food was fantastic. Great place too. Terry is a great chef and will soon get work somewhere else, no doubt, but would hope he is back at Eleanor Rigby's soon. He built Eleanor Rigby's up to have the character it has. We never had a disappointing night.

Lilli, did you think I didn't know that? It was just a play on words...

However lounge baristas are far more predatory than barristers... ask any middle-aged woman who has been wooed by them!

What do you mean by my assumptions. When you ask for a work permit for a "foreigner" you are told to offer the job to a local first.

Msg 4...

I believe it has but I don't have anything to do with the Aqua Park. You'd need to speak to Billy.

Vaughan, pls tell what you do have anything to do with?

The closure of Eleanor Rigbys has nothing to do with work permits or applications for them. It is purely an internal staff matter.

29 nine posts and most assuming something. If the person posting wants to tell us anything further, they will do so, if not......why can't the initial post just be taken for what it is, a polite notice that Eleanor Rigby's is closed until further notice. Why is that people must speculate? Beats me.

msg. 30,

In engineering we have the law of Entropy which in effect means that if there is a vacuum, somehow it will be filled. So what has happened with this thread is not unusual, it developed as expected.

I'm so sorry Eleanor Rigby is closed for the time being. Please let us all know when it will be opening again and whether Terry will still be the chef.

Yes, lets hope Terry IS still the chef as his food is so good and if you ask him for something he will do it for you (as long as you give him a couple of days notice) He always tries to make sure everything is cooked as it should be and is a genuinely nice bloke.
