Having major problem with Skype - help

Could anyone tell me if they are having problems with Skype today. After signing in it just says ' a problem has stopped skype working'.



Any help/solutioons would be appreciated. Have tried all the usual things, so is it island wide or just my computer/set up?

Have you turned the computer off and restarted it and Skype as per Tony's idea in message 3?

Have done a reinstall, but same problem.



According to Skype web page some people are having problems signing in e.g me, but the problem will be sorted in next to 12/24hrs.

Hi my Skype was OK until today for some reason they did not recharge my a/c automatically so it stopped completely. I have now made a manual payment but it will not work for the same reason as message 1.

My payment did go through and it all seemed fine until I tried to make a call - anyone a solution please?

There was an issue with Skype and my computer friend pointed me to this site where Skype have announced the solution. It worked for me but I needed help from my friend who knows more about computers.

Thanks GinaC but can I borrow your friend as I cannot seem to follow these instructions! As Skype are aware hopefully it will be sorted soon but luckily it is still working on my XP computer.

I've looked at the advice mentioned in message 10 but too technical for me. I'm trusting that it's down at the Skype end and will eventually be up and running again. I hope Skype hasn't been hacked and all our user account details hijacked.

I'm with Nethouse, working OK, @ the moment.

There's a new Skype update, out today.

But if it's a Skype problem, I wonder why it's only some users that are affected?
