A pretty cream coloured puppy has turned up in Malatya. Has anyone in the area lost one. Probably about 5 months old, still has baby teeth.

I have had no response to this post and have therefore taken this lovely puppy to KAR where I feel I was made to feel like a criminal! There is no way that we would have been able to keep him as we still have Lucy and two of her 12 puppies, both bitches so we have had to have all three of them spayed at quite considerable cost to ourselves. I therefore felt somewhat peeved that KAR should demand a donation (I already sponsor a dog) for being caring enough to take this pup off the streets and at least give him the chance of a loving home.

Were they aware you already sponsor a dog there? Being 'forced' to make a donation seems to negate the meaning of the word.....

I do wish every person who has a pet, at this juncture, when TRNC is sinking under the weight of animals, would have them neutered or spayed - and if unwilling/unable to pay - a kindly vet would do the deed for free......

You are to be commended for doing what you can to ensure this pup has a future, what a shame you had a less than kindly reception, considering you already support them.

Really sorry to hear about this. Can't say |I saw the pup in the street, and it is rather ironic that it appears to be at the time the muhtar had her dog-free week with the threat of any dogs found would be rounded up by the police. Maybe the pup was put there deliberately.

So sorry that being responsible seems to have back fired and hurt and that is often why people stand by and do nothing. One appreciates KAR overload problems, but surely there can be a better way of dealing with this kind of matter - namely one which shows caring.

I think it was great of you and only sorry we could not help personally.
