Can anybody tell us what Mr. Grant gets in terms of a golden goodbye?

Million pound a month football managers get sacked all the time and, before you know it, they're working as manager of another team.

I would imagine it would depend on what has been negotiated in his contract,

Vaughan, I doubt he was on a million pounds a month. More likely a million a year for him.

A million would be million a year too much! He was always second best and not worthy of the position... Glad he's gone, let's hope the Hammers a speedy return to the top flight.

Didn't he get the sack from Spurs? Why would anyone want to employ him after that?

Isn't this just a football merry-go-round?

i believe he had a clause saying relegation = no pay off, which is the reason why they didnt sack him earlier. The next appointment will be massive for our club. i hope a bit of time is taken to get it right.

Steve McClaren is tipped to become the new manager.

Anyone else got any idea as to who it could be?

I'd like to see Chris Hughton get the job. Such a genuine bloke.

the trouble with this club now is , would a top manager want to submit his cv to a couple of pimps , i doubt it very much , the nucleus of the team will leave , they will be lucky to survive the championship next season , as for playing in the olympic stadium ? thats a joke .

West Ham will survive this have no doubt about that ! for most fans my age this will be their 5th relegation ! and still well over 30,000 at home games ! look around at the Arsenals and Chelseas of this world do you honestly think their fans would put up with the last 10 years we have had ! the real fear for Spurs is now West Ham have the olympic stadium and are in the championship they are ripe for investment where as they refuse to invest in a new ground in their rightful home north London, players come and go at all clubs its only the fans that are constant.

I have always admired West Hams youth policy.Such a shame they lose their best players to the so called bigger clubs.Players like Cole,Lampard,de-foe,Ferdinand,to name but a few,

Paul.

Avram Grant was always going to take West Ham down, but the tight arsed owners would rather see the club go down than pay him off. He had a clause in his contract that he would get bugger all if they were relegated!

What they need to do now is get rid of the remaining over-paid crap and bring in some of their many, many quality youngsters that are waiting in the wings - hungry and full of passion for the West Ham cause.

The hammers will be back up within 2 seasons... there's too much young talent at the club for that not to happen. all they need to do is find a quality manager who is willing to work under the porn kings!

Get ready for the pub quiz question - 'who was the only manager in the epl to take two different teams down to the Championship on two consecutive seasons'?
